Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past

The seventh entry of the Dragon Quest series and the first to be on the Sony Playstation. It was one of the first Dragon Quest games to release outside of Japan since Dragon Quest IV under the new series name “Dragon Warrior”.

Despite the formula being mostly the same as previous entries, the scale of the game is unlike any of the previous ones. A rough estimate of the time required to beat the entire game is anywhere between 80 to 100 hours, and that’s not even including side quests. This is truly a quest, both in name and in length.

To give you an idea of the length, it took a team of 20 translators nearly an entire year to translate all 70,000 pages of text from the original Japanese script to English.
