The All-American is a unique Marksman Carbine that you can find in Vault 34’s armory. Its overall stats are slightly improved in almost all areas.

Quick tips before you go off to get the gun:

  • Vault 34 is dangerous. Between the radiation, powerful Feral Ghouls, and the labyrinthian design, this vault is one of the hardest to fully beat and loot in the game.
  • It can be lost. Due to some bugs, as well as poor geometry, the weapon can be lost and become unobtainable.
    • Can be fixed on PC. You can fix this on the PC version by using the following console command to give yourself the gun: “player.additem 00106FEB”.

Comparing the All-American to the Marksman Carbine

  • The All-American’s damage and critical damage are higher (26 damage vs 24 damage) (26 critical damage vs 24 critical damage).
  • It attacks faster (6 attacks/second vs 5.7 attacks/second).
  • It costs 1 less AP to fire in VATS (13 AP/attack vs 14 AP/attack).
  • It is slightly more accurate (0.035 spread vs 0.04 spread).
  • It holds 4 extra rounds in its magazine (24 rounds vs 20 rounds).
  • Its optic zooms in more than the stock version (3.5x magnification vs 2.88x magnification).

Long story short: almost all of the weapon’s stats are slightly better than the original version.

Gameplay Tips

  • Due to the weapon’s overall great stats, it’s a great general-purpose weapon for almost all rifle builds. It uses cheap, widely available ammunition, its item HP is so high that you’ll barely ever have to fix it, and there’s both AP and HP ammunition available.
  • This weapon excels when paired with the Grunt perk, which increases its damage by 25% (which comes out to 6.5 extra damage per shot).
