The 10 Power Berries in Harvest Moon SNES are obtainable in the following locations:
- Tilling the soil on your farm at random. Keep digging and it’ll eventually pop up.
- Another one found by tilling the soil at random. Same as the first.
- Smash the chicken statue located on the crossroads with a hammer.
- Catch a fish in the pond on the mountain. Instead of eating it, go around to the bottom of the pond and toss the fish back in.
- Found by chopping a random stump on the mountain with your Axe.
- During the Harvest Festival on Fall 12, bring a Fish or Full Moon Fruit to Ellen’s Mother by the giant pot.
- Win the Egg Festival Hunt on Fall 20. (Check the details on Power Berry #7 below as there is a catch regarding this one.)
- During any non-festival day in Fall, tell the Animal Shop vendor that you want to sell a chicken. A Hawker will visit your farm before the vendor does and let you exchange the chicken for a Power Berry. (Missable. Check the details on Power Berry #8.)
- On a random day in Winter, an event where you hear a loud sound will occur. The boulder blocking the left path will be open. A hole hidden in a stump will lead you to the Power Berry.
- On Spring 23 of Year 1 or 2, the Peddler will have a Snow Flower Seed for Sale for 2,000 G. Buy it then plant it on the Mountain Summit on Winter 1.
The first 5 of the listed Power Berries can be obtained within the first two to three days of playing, giving you a very useful increase in total Stamina just as you are beginning your farming adventure.
Power Berry #1 & #2: Tilling the Field
Two Power Berries can be found by tilling a random dirt tile on your farm. You can keep digging the same spot until both pop up. Both can be obtained on the first day by using the Hot Springs on the mountain to regenerate your stamina as needed.
Hot Spring Trick: You can regenerate all of your stamina in just a few seconds at the hot spring by jumping in and out of it instead than soaking in it. The reason for this is because you regenerate a chunk of stamina the moment you jump in and then slowly recover stamina over time. Jumping in and out 4-5 times will immediately max out your stamina.
Power Berry #3: Smash the Chicken Statue
A Power Berry can be found on the crossroads connecting your farm, the mountain and the town. Break the Chicken Statue with your hammer to reveal it. It does not need to be a gold hammer, so you can get this one as soon as you have access to your tools.
Power Berry #4: Catch and Release
A Power Berry can be obtained by catching a fish at the fishing pond. However, instead of eating or selling the fish, go to the bottom of the pond and throw the fish back in. The Pond Spirit will appear and reward your good deed with a Power Berry.
Power Berry #5: Chopping the Mountain Stump
Another Power Berry can be found after chopping a random stump on the Mountain. If for some reason you chop all the stumps and you don’t find it, you can reload all the stumps on the mountain by leaving the mountain, either up to the summit or back to the crossroad, then coming back.
Power Berry #6: Fish/Full Moon Fruit at the Harvest Festival
A Power Berry can be obtained during the Harvest Festival that takes place in town on Fall 12. At the festival, you can bring one food item to Ellen’s Mother standing in front of the big pot in the middle of town to cook into the pot. If you bring a Fish or Full Moon Fruit (located at the Mountain Summit during Fall), you will receive a Power Berry. This will only happen once per game.
Power Berry #7: Win the Egg Festival Hunt
A Power Berry is one of two possible prizes for winning the Egg Festival Hunt that occurs on Fall 20. The other possible prize is the decorative Turtle Shell. The prize you receive is completely random. If you receive the Turtle Shell from winning the Hunt on Year 1, the Power Berry will be the prize for winning the Hunt on Year 2 and vice versa. If you want to make sure you get the Power Berry as the prize on Year 1, you can reset your game before the day ends and reload your save for that day. This will reroll the prize you can get, making it possible to ensure you get the Power Berry on Year 1.
You’ll receive the prize at your home when you wake up the next day.
Power Berry #8: The Hawker and the Chicken
A Power Berry can be obtained on any non-festival day in Fall but you must have a chicken that you are willing to sell. Go to the Animal Shop and inform the shopkeeper that you want to sell a chicken. He’ll tell you to put the chicken in the shipping spot just left of your shipping container and he’ll stop by later in the day to retrieve it. Once you put the chicken in the selling spot, a wandering hawker will stop by to offer you a Power Berry in exchange for the chicken you’re selling.
Warning! If you do not accept the Hawker’s deal, you will be permanently unable to get this Power Berry for the rest of the game. He will never return to make this offer to you again.
Power Berry #9: The Fall Earthquake
A Power Berry is obtainable after an event that will occur during a random day in Fall of the first year. You’ll hear a loud rumbling sound in the evening and the following morning one of the carpenters will tell you to check your farm then visit the mountain. A large boulder that was blocking the left path at the entrance of the mountain will be gone. Chop down the stump there and you’ll uncover a hole you can jump in to find a Power Berry.
Power Berry #10: The Summit’s Treasure
A Power Berry can be obtained by buying the Snow Flower Seed that the Peddler sells only on Spring 23 of Year 1 or 2 for 2,000g. After you buy it, hang on to it until Winter 1 then plant the seed at the small dirt mound at the Mountain Summit and a Fairy will appear and reward you with a Power Berry.
Money Tips: The price of the Snow Flower Seed is very high for new players to be able to purchase on Year 1 without some experience or knowledge of how to make gold efficiently, but it is possible. Check out our Guide on Making the Most Money In Any Season to help you make the most gold possible regardless of the time of year.
Obtaining all 10 Power Berries will double the amount of stamina you have, allowing you to maximize the number times you can use your tools in a day.
