The Atomic-valence tri-radii-oscillator is a unique piece of headgear in Fallout: New Vegas’s Old World Blues DLC that passively regenerates the player’s HP. It can be acquired in either the Z-14 Pepsinae DNA Splicing Lab or in the X-7b “Boom Town” Target Zone.
Quick tips before you get the Atomic-valence tri-radii-oscillator:
- Old World Blues DLC required. The Headgear was added with the Old World Blues DLC.
- Great HP regen. This item regenerates the second highest amount of HP of any item in the game, being 2HP every 10 real-life seconds.
- Additional steps required. If you wish to get the copy of the item located in the X-7b “Boom Town” Target Zone, you’ll have to first do something in another location. Follow the guide to learn more.
- Hair item. This item is considered a “hair” item, meaning that it can be worn alongside hats and berets, including the First Recon Beret (guided to acquire that one here).
Option 1: Z-14 Pepsinae DNA Splicing Lab
To get the Atomic-valence tri-radii-oscillator, you’ll have to kill a unique Cazador, named “Specimen 73”. Bringing antivenom is highly suggested.
First, you must make your way to the location “Z-14 Pepsinae DNA Splicing Lab”, which can be found near the eastern border of the map.
Beware of the Cazadores located in this area.
Next, head inside the facility and head down the stairs that are directly in front of you when you enter.
Follow the corridor until you see a large hermetic door on the other side of a tunnel.
Head to the hermetic door and open it. Behind it is where you’ll find Specimen 73. The Atomic-valence tri-radii-oscillator is located on its corpse.
Option 2: X-7b “Boom Town” Target Zone
To get the Atomic-valence tri-radii-oscillator here, you’ll first have to go to the location “X-7a “Left Field” Artillery Launch”, located on the south-western corner of the map.
Next, you’ll have to find the launch console. Starting at the large concrete platform, head into the space between the two massive cannons.
You’ll see an elevated platform next to a concrete building. The platform has both a console and a set of lockers. That’s the correct platform.
Head up the metal stairs and interact with the console.
Next, make your way to the “X-7b “Boom Town” Target Zone”, located a fair bit to the east of the X-7a “Left Field” Artillery Launch.
You’ll come across a broken fence, beyond which you’ll find a smoking crater.
Inside the crater is where you’ll find the footlocker with the Atomic-valence tri-radii-oscillator.
