In order to synthesize the Blue Bomb Rod, you will need a Holy Arbor Branch.

You need to meet the following requirements before making a Blue Bomb Rod:

1. Synthesize a Golden Axe: The Holy Arbor Branch requires an Axe with Gathering Rank 3. Creating a Golden Axe is the easiest way to achieve this. The other option would be using an Ice Essence on a Woodcutter’s Axe to unlock the effect.

Obtaining the Holy Arbor Branch

You can easily find the Holy Arbor Branch in two different areas. Make sure you have a Golden Axe with Gathering Rank 3.

For the first one, fast travel to Valley of Winds – Glass Flower Forest. Head over to the west side of the map and cross the long wooden bridge.

On the other side of the bridge, you will find branches encrusted with crystals. Use the Golden Axe on them to obtain the Holy Arbor Branch.

The second area where you can easily find the Holy Arbor Branch is the Water Spirit’s Sanctuary.

In order to access the Water Spirit’s Sanctuary, fast travel to Northern Lands – Red Cliff. The entrance to the Water Spirit’s Sanctuary is located to the northeast.

Head northeast from Red Cliff’s entrance and you will reach an oasis. Jump off the cliff to reach the Fountain of Life.

Next, dive into the Fountain of Life.

Underwater, swim east and you will find a cave. Head into the cave to enter the Water Spirit’s Sanctuary.

In the Water Spirit’s Sanctuary, head north and go up the stairway. 

Near the top, you will find multiple logs encrusted with crystals. Use the Golden Axe on these logs to obtain the Holy Arbor Branch.

After obtaining the Holy Arbor Branch, head back to the Atelier.

Synthesizing the Blue Bomb Rod

Before starting, make sure you have all the necessary ingredients:

• A Fossil Tree.
• Two Bombs.
• Jewel-type ingredient (Ice Element level 3 loop).
• Gunpowder-type ingredient (Fire Element level 4 loop).
• Another Gunpowder-type ingredient (Wind Element level 5 loop).
• Holy Arbor Branch (Ice Element level 3).

Select the Bomb Rod recipe in the cauldron’s menu. Insert a Fossil Tree in the Effect 1 loop.

Add a Bomb to the Traits loop.

Add the first Jewel-type ingredient to the Effect 2 loop. This loop requires Ice Element level 3.

Insert a Gunpowder-type ingredient in the second Effect 2 loop. This loop requires Fire Element level 4.

Use a Bomb in the second Traits loop.

Insert a Gunpowder-type ingredient in the third Effect 2 loop.

You will find two Recipe loops. Use the one on the bottom left and add the Holy Arbor Branch. This loop requires Ice Element level 3.

Synthesize the recipe right away, as you will be able to add all effects later on.

You can unlock the Blue Bomb Rod’s effects using the Item Rebuild option. As an alternative, you can also synthesize a new one from scratch.

You will need the following ingredients in order to unlock all loops in the recipe:

• Jewel-type ingredient (Lightning Element level 5 loop).
• Another Jewel-type ingredient (Lightning Element level 3 loop).
• A third Jewel-type ingredient (Fire Element level 4 loop).
• A Bomb Rod (Fire Element level 3 loop).
• A second Bomb Rod (Fire Element level 4 loop).
• A third Bomb Rod (Fire Element level 5 loop).
• A Magical-type ingredient (Lightning Element level 5 loop).
• A second Magical-type ingredient (Fire Element level 9 loop).
• A third Magical-type ingredient (Ice Element level 9 loop).
• A Holy Arbor Branch (Ice Element level 4 loop).
• Another Holy Arbor Branch (Ice Element level 9 loop).

After adding all ingredients, you will create a Blue Bomb Rod with the following effects:

• Expert Exploding (Gathering Rank 3).
• Gathering Up L.
• Add (General Goods).
• Add (Gases).
