Basic Information
Cliff is a wanderer who has recently moved to Mineral Town. He is very shy and doesn’t have any friends. He spends most of his time alone in the Church.
Cliff thinks of leaving the town permanently at the end of the first year. To make him stay, ask him to come with you to Aja Winery when Duke asks for your help. Duke will give him a job and he will stay in the town.

Events with Cliff
Winery Job
Date: Fall 14
Time: 6:00 AM
Duke will come to your house and ask you if you could help to harvest grapes at the vineyard tomorrow. If you agree to help, he will tell you to come to the winery at 10 AM the following day. Duke will also ask you to find another person to help at the winery.
Cliff is the only person willing to help at the winery with you. After harvesting the grapes at the winery, Duke will offer Cliff a permanent job. This is the only way to keep Cliff from leaving the town at the end of the year.
Cliff Leaves Mineral Town
Date: Winter 29
Time: 11:00 AM onwards
You can only view this event if Cliff does not get the job at the winery. Go to Mineral Beach, where you’ll find Doug and Cliff on the dock. Cliff decided to leave the town and Doug came by to say his goodbyes.
Cliff will then permanently leave the town, and will only return to visit.
Customers for Kai
Date: Any date, summer season only
Time: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Cliff is one of the customers who visits Kai’s restaurant during this event.
Visit Kai’s restaurant at Mineral Beach between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Kai tells you he doesn’t have any customers. Popuri shows up with a lot of customers, and now Kai is worried that it’ll be too difficult for him to cook for all of them. You agree to help Kai, and he thanks you for your help.
Note: The day will end when you trigger this event, so finish all your tasks before going to the beach.
Cliff Faints
Date: Any date, Year 1 winter only
Time: 10:00 AM onwards
You must have an empty space in your rucksack to view this event.
During a snowy winter day in your first year, go to Rose Square after 10:00 AM. You will find Cliff standing in the middle of the Square. He will suddenly faint, and you’ll find a photograph next to him. Cliff reminisces about his family, and the snowy day reminds him of the day he left his home.
You go to the Inn to ask for some help where Ann and her father Doug help you bring Cliff to the Clinic.
The Doctor says Cliff will be fine and asks you to leave so he can have some rest. When you exit the Clinic, you remember that you still have the photograph that Cliff dropped when he fainted. Return the photograph to him and he will tell you that the people in it are his family, and he goes back to sleep.
Cliff will stay at the Clinic for a few days. If you faint while Cliff is in the Clinic, a scene will play where the Doctor kicks Cliff out of his room to the lobby in order to make room for you. Still weak and exhausted, Cliff will collapse to the floor and Elli will drag him away.
Ann and Cliff’s Argument
Date: Any, must be a rainy day
Time: 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM
Cliff and Ann must be married before you can view this event. Go to the Inn early in the morning, between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM.
Inside, you’ll find Ann and Cliff having an argument. Cliff is upset that Ann doesn’t act like a normal girl and says his sister acts more feminine than she does. Ann believes that Cliff should love her for the way that she is. Cliff realizes this and apologizes to Ann.
Rival Heart Events
Each potential marriage candidate has their own rival heart events. Once you’ve viewed their orange heart event, they will marry your rival after seven days. You cannot view a rival heart event when the girl involved has a higher affection level for you.
For example, if you want to view Popuri and Kai’s green rival heart event, Popuri’s affection should be green or lower. If she has an orange or red heart, the rival heart event will not trigger.
Black Rival Heart Event
Location: The Inn
Date: Any day during spring, fall, or winter; Any day during the first week of summer
Time: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Ann attempts to make small talk with Cliff inside his room. Cliff is very shy and tries not to talk with Ann, which she notices. Ann decides not to force Cliff to talk and just cleans his room and leaves.
Blue Rival Heart Event
Location: The Church
Date: Any rainy day except Saturday, spring and summer season only
Time: 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Pastor Carter asks Ann to show Cliff around town, as he doesn’t try to make friends on his own. He believes this would be good for Cliff. Ann agrees and says she will accompany Cliff around the town later.
Important Note: You must trigger this event before Cliff gets the job at Aja Winery.
Green Rival Heart Event
Location: The Inn
Date: Saturdays, Year 2 or later
Time: 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Inside the Inn, Doug and Ann are discussing how long they think Cliff will stay at Mineral Town. Cliff arrives, and Ann says he can stay at the Inn forever if he wants to.
Important Note: To trigger this event, Cliff must get the job at the Winery first and you must view the previous heart events first.
Orange Rival Heart Event
Location: Aja Winery
Date: Any day except Saturday, Year 4 or later
Time: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
After seeing all the other events, go to Aja Winery to view this event. Ann has come to the Winery to deliver Cliff his lunch. Duke walks in and says the two look like newlyweds, which embarrasses both Cliff and Ann.
Note: Cliff and Ann will get married seven days after viewing this event.
