The Compliance Regular is a unique Laser Pistol that can be found in the Fallen Rock Cave in Fallout: New Vegas’s Honest Hearts DLC.

Quick tips before you set out to get the weapon:

• Honest Hearts DLC required. The weapon can only be acquired if you have the Honest Hearts DLC installed.
• Non-Lethal weapon. This weapon is meant to be used as a non-lethal alternative to the basic laser pistol, paralyzing targets on critical hits.
• Cripples Spore Carriers on PS3. If you are playing on the PS3 version of the game, the Compliance Regulator cripples the limbs of spore carriers with a single hit, making it an incredibly useful weapon to use during the DLC, as well as while exploring Vault 22.

Acquiring the weapon

To acquire the weapon, you’ll first have to make your way to the Falled Rock Cave, located down the stream from the Dead Horses camp. You should pass by this cave right at the very start of the DLC.

Once there, you should see a large cave entrance with white tribal paintings by its entrance. Go inside.

Be wary of the tripwires and mines present in the area.

Once inside the cave, head forward until you come to a fork in the cave.

Once you reach the fork, head to the right, where you see the glowing red mushrooms.

Head down the cave’s corridor until you come to another fork in the cave.

On the next fork, head left, and you will see a campsite at the bottom of the corridor.

The compliance regulator is in the back of the campsite near the glowing green mushrooms, hidden behind a wooden box.

Tips for using the weapon

• Despite being a unique laser pistol, it practically cannot be compared to it due to it serving a completely different role.
• The weapon only does 8 damage per hit, but paralyzes the target for 10 seconds if a critical hit is dealt. Critically hitting an already paralyzed target will extend the duration of the paralysis.
  • This makes it an excellent weapon for non-lethal playthroughs, as it allows you to temporarily disable enemies without killing them.
• It’s recommended that players use bulk ammo with this weapon, decreasing the damage even further while increasing the weapon’s effective durability.
• The weapon serves as a fun, yet effective sidearm to critical hit builds. 
• The Laser Commander perk will increase your chance to critically hit with it by 10%.
