The corn is a summer crop in Harvest Moon: Back to Nature. It is one of the best summer crops to plant in terms of profit, only next to the pineapple. Corn takes about half a season to grow, and it should be your main source of income during summer.
Where to buy Seeds: At the Supermarket
Days to Grow: 14 days
Renewable Crop: Yes, 4 days to regrow
Important Note: Each bag of seeds has 9 seeds that will fill a 3×3 square of tilled soil when planted. If you plant any seed on untilled soil, it will not grow and you will lose it forever.
Profit Using 3×3 and Fat-C Method
For renewable crops, we will calculate the profit per bag per day with the formula (Maximum Profit per Season/30 days), assuming you started planting on the first day of the season.
|Seed Bag Cost
|Price per Crop
|Total Revenue per Bag
|Profit per Bag per Day
|Maximum Harvests per Season
|Maximum Profit per Season
The Fat-C Method
This planting method involves tilling a 3×3 square of soil and leaving one square on the edge untilled, planting just 8 crops instead of 9. This is the most efficient method of planting crops during the early stages of the game since the center crop is inaccessible without an upgraded watering can.
Corn is the main ingredient of popcorn and miso soup, and is used as an optional ingredient in a lot of other recipes.
As Main Ingredient: Popcorn, Miso Soup
As Optional Ingredient: Curry, Fried Rice, Mixed Juice, Omelet, Pizza, Rice Omelet, Salad, Sandwich, Stir Fry, Vegetable Juice, Veggie Latte
Most people in the game will react neutrally when receiving corn. Instead of giving the crop directly as a present, it is better to first create a recipe using it.
