The Courier Duster and Ulysses’ Duster are unique pieces of armor that you acquire from the rewards chest at the end of the Lonesome Road DLC.
Quick tips and notes about the armors:
- 4 different versions. There are 4 different versions of the Courier Duster, we’ll go into more detail about each one later on in the guide. The version you obtain depends on the faction you choose to side with during the base game.
- You can only get one. You can only get 1 version of the Courier Duster per playthrough
- The Lonesome Road DLC is required. To get this armor, you must have the Lonesome Road DLC installed.
Acquisition
Getting the dusters is very easy. As you finish the Lonesome Road DLC, you’ll spawn in the Mojave, at the location “Canyon Wreckage”, and you’ll see a chest directly in front of you.
This check contains your Courier Duster and Ulysses’ Duster.
Courier Duster Variants
As mentioned previously, there are 4 variants of the Courier Duster.
You get the version of whichever faction you have the highest reputation with when you finish the DLC. Provided that you have the same reputation with 2 of the factions, you get whichever comes first in the list of “NCR, Caesar’s Legion, The Strip”.
If you have a neutral or lower reputation with every faction, you get the independent variant.
Bonuses of the Different Versions
Below is a table that tells you the stat boosts that each armor gives you. Note that the DT is the same for each armor, being 13.

Comparing the Ulysses’ Duster to the Other Duster Variants
The Ulysses’ Duster is slightly different when compared to the other dusters.
First of all, you’ll always get it, regardless of the ending you get or the faction you’re allied with.
When it comes to stats, it follows the same pattern: The Durability, DT, Weight, and Value are all identical, but the stat boosts are different. Specifically, it gives you a +1 bonus to Charisma and a +5% boost to your Critical hit chance.
The bonus critical hit chance makes it arguably the best version of the duster, as it provides a direct DPS boost regardless of what build you’re using.
Gameplay Notes
- The DT for this armor is some of the surprisingly high for Light Armor, being the 4th highest.
- It’s possible to get 2 Ulysses’ Dusters by killing Ulysses at the end of the DLC.
- Visually, the Ulysses’ Duster is the exact same as the Strip variant of the Courier Duster.
