In order to synthesize the Custom Flame Crystal, you will need a two-star Woodcutter’s Axe.
Here are the requirements you need to clear in order to create the Custom Flame Crystal.
- Unlock the Custom Flame Crystal Recipe: You will receive the Custom Flame Crystal recipe as a reward for completing the Sun Door’s Ruin Crystal.
- Synthesize a Woodcutter’s Axe with the “Capable Chopping” effect: This effect will raise your Woodcutter’s Axe Gathering Rank up to two stars.
- Collect an Ember Stone: You will also need an Ember Stone to complete the Custom Flame Crystal.
Completing the Preparations
Before collecting the ingredients, you must obtain the Custom Flame Crystal’s recipe. You also need to create a Woodcutter’s Axe with Gathering Rank 2.
Obtaining the Custom Flame Crystal Recipe
In order to unlock the recipe, you must complete the Sun Door’s Ruin Crystal.
For the “Gate Mechanism” section, you will need the following memory fragments:
- “Explorer’s Memory 2”, with the keywords “gate”, “can only be opened” and “fire mana”.
- “Stone Gate Fragment”, which contains the keywords “stone door”, “pattern” and “glows faintly”.
Next, you will need the following memory fragments for the “Sun Crystal” section:
- “Warrior’s Memory 10”, with the keywords “guardian”, “power” and “hidden”.
- “Warrior’s Memory 8”. The keywords are “treasure of the workshop”, “Without it” and “save the people”.
Moving on to the third and final section, “Flame Replica”, you will need these memory fragments:
- “Small Flame Jewel”, which contains the keywords “jewel”, “statue of the sun” and “fire mana”.
- “Craftsman’s Records”, with the keywords “Fairystone”, “Flame Sun” and “will not last”.
Once you complete all three sections, return to the Atelier. You will automatically learn the recipe for the Custom Flame Crystal.
Synthesizing a Woodcutter’s Axe With Gathering Rank 2
You will raise the Axe’s Gathering Rank by unlocking the “Capable Chopping” effect.
You need to raise the Effect 1 loop in the Woodcutter’s Axe recipe up to Ice Element level 5. This loop uses Eiche as the ingredient.
After that, complete the recipe as normal. Insert a Metal-type ingredient in the Quality loop at the bottom.
Complete the recipe with a Polish Powder in the Effect 2 loop at the top-left corner.
Synthesize the recipe to obtain a Woodcutter’s Axe with Gathering Rank 2.
Gathering Ingredients
After completing the preparations, you can start collecting the ingredients. You will need an Ember Stone.
Collecting the Ember Stone
There are three different ways to obtain an Ember Stone. The easiest and fastest one is using the Gathering Rank 2 Woodcutter’s Axe.
Fast travel to Ancient Mana Workshop – Fire People’s Village. Use the Woodcutter’s Axe on the yellow crystals to obtain an Ember Stone.
The second method is to raise the Gathering Rank up to 3 in the Skill Tree. You will need to unlock multiple nodes in one go, however, which will cost a fair amount of SP.
The Gathering Rank 3 node itself requires 800 SP.
At Gathering Rank 3, you will be able to obtain the Ember Stone from these small piles of rubble. You will find them scattered around the Fire People’s Village as well.
The third method is by digging around Fairy People’s Village with the Spirit Beast.
The items you obtain by digging are randomly generated. Obtaining an Ember Stone with this method can be quite time-consuming.
Synthesizing the Custom Flame Crystal
Once you have the Ember Stone, return to the Atelier. Use the cauldron and select the Custom Flame Crystal.
Start by adding the Solar Oil, which you obtained at the start of the chapter, to the central Quality loop.
Use the Ember Stone in the Quality loop on the bottom.
Add a Fuel-type ingredient to the Quality loop on the top-right corner.
Complete the synthesis by adding a Fuel-type to the Quality loop on the top-left corner.
With the Custom Flame Crystal in hand, fast travel to Ancient Mana Workshop – Corroded Mine Cavern. Use the Custom Flame Crystal on the Sun statue to advance the main story.
