In order to unlock Dian’s ultimate weapon, Diamantis, you must complete the normal quest “A Request to Investigate the Temple” in the Nemed region.
These are the other requirements you need to meet:
- Advance the main story: The ultimate weapon quests will only become available once you get to the final chapter in the main story, “Code of the Universe”.
- Clear the following normal quests:
- Not Enough Material for the Device!
- Take This if You’re Tired.
Both quests are available at the village chief’s manor in Faurre.
- Create a Secret Key with a generic Adventure Effect: You will need to access the Abandoned Temple, the area farthest northwest in Nemend. The path is blocked by a barrier, which requires a Secret Key.
- Unlock the Grand Orgen recipe: The Grand Orgen recipe is on the top side of the Skill Tree, and requires 1500 SP.
- Obtain a Dragon Bone: The Dragon Bone is a common drop from large wyrm-type monsters.
Unlocking the Diamantis Recipe
Switch to the Nemend region. Fast travel to Nemed Forest – Village of Faurre, then head over to the village chief’s manor.
Inside the manor, talk to Dolto, the village chief, to unlock the normal quest “A Request to Investigate the Temple”.

For this quest, you will need to discover the Abandoned Temple landmarks, located on the mountain range to the northwest.
In order to get there, fast travel to Portta Hills – Fishing Village in the Bay, and take the western exit.
You will eventually run into a barrier. Use a Secret Key with an Adventure Effect to break the barrier.
Keep heading west along the trail, until you reach the mountain range. Head north along the mountain trail, and you will arrive at the Abandoned Temple.
In order to enter the temple, you must lower the drawbridge.
Make your way to the drawbridge, on the northern part of the . Face south from the drawbridge, then walk up the first set of stairs.

Keep walking on a straight line and go up the second set of stairs.

You will arrive on the top of the platform. Walk to the end of the path, where you will find a lever.

Pull the lever to lower the drawbridge, which will give you access to the temple.

Inside the temple, head east along the hallway.

You will find some boulders blocking the path at the end of the hallway. Slide under the pile to proceed.

You will then enter the library. Check the bookshelf on the left side of the room to obtain the documents that Dolto had asked you to retrieve.

Return to the village chief’s manor in Faurre and report back to Dolto. You will complete the quest and obtain the recipe for Diamantis as a reward.

Once you head back to the Atelier, you will automatically learn the recipe.

Obtaining the Ingredients
Diamantis requires a Dragon Bone as its second core ingredient. You can obtain it as a common drop from all large wyrm-type monsters.
Dragon Bone
The easiest place where you can obtain a Dragon Bone is the Land of Three Swords, one of the six Kark Isles. The Land of Three Swords is the isle farthest to the west of Blue Life Spring.
Fast travel to Kark Isles – Land of Three Swords, and then head over to the island’s shore. You will find a Mega Wyvern flying around.

Defeat the Mega Wyvern to obtain a Dragon Bone.

Synthesizing Diamantis
After collecting the necessary ingredients, return to the Atelier.
Before you get to synthesizing Dian’s ultimate weapon, create 11 Grand Orgen ingots.

Next, select the recipe for Diamantis.
Starting with the Effect 2 loop, insert a Dragon Bone.

You will then automatically move to the Effect 1 loop. Add as many Grand Orgen ingots as possible.
With a maxed out Skill Tree, you will be able to add 11 ingots.

You can now synthesize the recipe, and add the effects later via Item Rebuild.

In order to unlock all of Diamantis’ effects, you will need the following materials:
- Grand Orgen (Air Element level 6 loop).
- Two Ingot-category ingredients (Air Element levels 3 and 5).
- Dragon Bone (Fire Element level 6 loop).
- Eight Dragon-category ingredients (Air Element levels 4 and 6; Ice Element levels 4 and 5; Fire Element levels 3, 4 and 6; Bolt Element level 5).
Diamantis doesn’t have any viable loops for the usual Effect Spread ingredients (Philosopher’s Stone, Olden Philosopher’s Stone, Arc-en-Ciel, Crystal Element).
The best way to quickly fill out all loops is to create either a Dark Glittering Oval or a Blue Flame Ember. These are the only viable Dragon-category ingredients with Effect Spread.
You will need Secret Keys with the synthesis effects listed below:
- Add Air Element.
- Add Bolt Element.
- Add Ice Element.
These effects can only be obtained from Uncommon and Rare Secret Keys. Super Rare Secret Keys can’t generate these effects.
If you decide to go with the Dark Glittering Oval, then you will need to create one unit with the Air Element, and another with the Ice Element added.
But if you choose to go with the Blue Flame Ember instead, you will need to create one unit with the Bolt Element added, and another with the Ice Element.

Once you max out all the loops, Diamantis will have these effects:
- Axe of Ruin: increases Dian’s Defense, and boosts the damage dealt according to his Defense.
- Mark of Aggression 6: raises Dian’s Attacker level.

You can also use the furnace to reinforce your equipment. With this, you can add Traits, Super Traits, and also boost the weapon’s stats up to 999.
Best Weapon for Dian
In Atelier Ryza 3, there are no morphs in the weapons’ recipes. All five weapons have standalone recipes.
This allows players to get creative with their builds, since all five weapons are viable.
Aside from Diamantis, Dian will have these weapons available:
| Weapon | Primary Ingredient | Secondary Ingredient | Effect 1 | Effect 2 |
| Wild Axe | Ingot | (Stone) | Increases physical damage | Increases Attack by 20 |
| Daybreak | Startium | Large Bone | Increases skill damage | Attacker level up |
| Estacado | Creaminea | Ancient Fossil | Increases Defense and critical rate | Supporter level up |
| Elde Divide | Goldoterion | Beast Fossil | Increases damage against stunned enemiesNormal attacks can lower the target’s Defense | Defender level up |
If you decide to synthesize one of the other four weapons, look for a loop that requires Ingot-category ingredients, if available.
Simply follow the synthesis flow until you get to that loop. Once you do, add as many Grand Orgen ingots as possible to that loop.
