| Item | Feverfew Root |
| Description | the only known medicine capable of healing a fever. |
| Location | Parthenia |
To cure Kiryl from his fever you’ll need a Feverfew Root, which you can get by finding the Feverfew Seed in the Imperial Cave, to the south of Parthenia, and using it to save the village of Parthenia. Doing this is needed to recruit Alena, Kiryl and Borya again in Chapter 5.
Preparations
- Be around level 15. You can grind around Mintos until you’re around that level. You’ll need to grind for gold anyways.
- Gear up in Mintos. There’s no gear shop in Parthenia so equip yourself here. Buy Iron Helms and Golden Tiaras for your party, and an Iron Apron for Torneko.
Finding out about the Feverfew Root
After you arrive at Mintos (and Hoffman leaves your party), go to the inn’s second floor. You’ll find Kyril and Borya, with Kyril being sick and laying in bed. Borya will tell you that Alena went looking for a cure, and he’ll join your party.
You’ll have to reach Parthenia now. Exit Mintos and head east by land until you reach an impassable mountain range; walk south following the mountains until you reach a small town; that’s Parthenia.
In Parthenia, talk to the local king and he’ll tell you he knows about a seed located in a cave to the south that can cure Kiryll. You’ll need to go there now.
Exit Parthenia and go south as the king said. Follow the shore and you’ll reach the cave in no time.
Exploring the Imperial Cave
Advance a bit and you’ll see Alena partied with 3 other men, but you can’t recruit her yet; she’ll join you after you cure Kiryl.
BF 1
This cave has a lot of sliding tiles that work as different puzzles. There’s a simple one on this floor: simply step on the lower left set of stripes to find a Seed of Agility, then step on the upper right set to get back to the pathway. After that just head southwest to reach the next floor.
BF 2
This floor can be quite confusing. All the sliding tiles in the middle take you nowhere, so avoid them. Get to the western edge of the floor and walk north, stepping on the sliding tiles against the wall; you’ll find a chest with a Seed of Life.
Step on the sliding tiles to your right and let them take you to the other side of the room. From here walk west avoiding all sliding tiles you see, until you reach a small islet with a Robe of Serenity inside a chest. Exit the islet and walk east to step on another sliding tile that takes you to a chest with 800 gold coins.
From here step on any sliding tile to get out of the circle, and walk east until the edge of the room. There are two lines of sliding tiles below you; don’t step on the one against the wall or you’ll get back to the beginning of the floor; step on the eastern one instead, and from there walk south until you see the stairs to the next floor.
BF 3
Walk north and step on the northern line available. On the other end of the line, walk seven tiles to your left and step on the sliding tile to the south of you. From there walk three steps down and get on the sliding tile to your right. You’ll be transported to the middle of the room, where you’ll find the chest with a Feverfew Seed. The other chest in this room is a Mimic enemy, so you can ignore it if you want.
Getting the Feverfew Root
Now that you got the seed you can cast evac or walk your way out (it’s easier than getting here) and go back to Parthenia.
In town, go look for the king and give him the Feverfew Seed. He’ll plant it and the entire town will blossom. Talk to the king again and he’ll thank you by giving you a Feverfew Root.
With the Feverfew Root in your bag, you only have to go back to the inn in Mintos and give the root to Kiryl. He’ll feel better instantly, and after a short dialogue, both he and Alena will join your party.
Now that you have recruited the three characters from Chapter 2, your next goal should be to find Ragnar, in Palais de Leon.
