Gehenna is a unique variant of the Shishkebab that can be purchased from the Gun Runners while the Gun Runner’s Arsenal DLC is installed.
Quick tips before you purchase the weapon.
- Expensive. The sword can easily cost 12,000 caps or more, depending on your Barter skill.
- Can be circumvented with the ghost dupe glitch. Ghost duping is a glitch that allows you to avoid paying the high price for the sword. Check out the guide here for more info.
- Gun Runners’ Arsenal DLC Required. To get this weapon, you’ll need to have the Gun Runners’ Arsenal DLC installed.
Acquisition
To get this weapon, you must purchase it from the Vendortron at the Gun Runner’s kiosk.
Make your way to the Gun Runners kiosk, located southwest of Freeside’s East Gate.
Once there, talk to the Vendortron.
He’ll sell you the sword no matter your level, as long as you have the DLC installed.
Comparing The Gehenna To The Shishkebab
- Deals slightly more damage (42 damage vs 40 damage).
- Attacks faster (2.77 attacks/second vs 2.31 attacks/second).
- Takes less AP to attack with in VATS (25 AP to attack vs 28 AP to attack ).
- Deals more fire damage over time (5 damage/second over 5 seconds vs 2 damage/second over 5 seconds).
- Despite it being fire damage, only the base damage is boosted by the Pyromaniac perk, not the fire damage over time.
- Has a much lower durability (1995 attacks before breaking vs 2495 attacks before breaking).
Gameplay Tips
- Even though it’s permanently on fire, you can still apply venoms to the blade.
- Its high damage over time makes it very useful against high-HP enemies.
- You can’t apply more than one fire damage over time effect to an enemy.
- Due to it being constantly on fire, it lights explosive gasses on fire.
