You can make the Genesis Hammer after getting “Creation and Destruction”, a recipe book. “Creation and Destruction” is a reward for completing the side quest “Interview Request”. You will need to complete all side quests from the Kurken residents to unlock it.
The Genesis Hammer is a powerful battle item that becomes available in the mid game. It also comes with a high cost of 5 Core Charges (CC).
In order to obtain the Genesis Hammer, make sure to clear the following requirements:
- Raise your Alchemy Level: Synthesizing the Genesis Hammer requires Alchemy Level 38.
- Advance the main story: You will need to complete the main story up to Chapter 4 – The Panicking Boy, part 10.
- Collect a Degenesis Stone: The Genesis Hammer recipe requires a Marblestone. This ingredient is a recipe morph of the Stone Material and requires a Degenesis Stone.
- Complete every side quest on Kurken Island: You will need to complete Peter’s questline. “Interview Request” which becomes available once you clear all the other residents’ side quests.
- Obtain the Genesis Hammer recipe: You will get the recipe as a reward for completing Peter’s final quest.
Gathering the Necessary Ingredients
The Genesis Hammer doesn’t require many tricky ingredients. Finding a Degenesis Stone is the only one that can cause some problems.
How to Obtain a Degenesis Stone
You can obtain the Degenesis Stone as a rare drop from Legendary Warriors.
Fast travel to Pynnor Tower – Sanctuary Garden. Head down the stairs and look for these large armored monsters.
After obtaining a Degenesis Stone, fast travel back to the Atelier.
Select the Stone Material recipe and complete the recipe morph to get a Marblestone. The Recipe loop requires a Water Element Level 4 ingredient.
Obtaining the Genesis Hammer Recipe
Make sure you have completed the side quests from all these characters:
- Barbara, Pat and Rolf.
- Cynthia.
- Gina.
- Bascila and the Goat.
- Romy.
- Daniel, Edward and Jonna.
After completing all the side quests, you will unlock “Interview Request”. This is the final quest available from the Kurken residents.
Fast travel to Kurken Port – Fairystone Forest and you will find Peter just in front of the Guide Post.
Talk to him to unlock and automatically complete the side quest. He will give you the recipe book “Creation and Destruction” as a reward.
Fast travel back to Ryza’s Atelier to learn the recipe for the Genesis Hammer.
Synthesizing the Genesis Hammer
After obtaining a Marblestone, you can synthesize the Genesis Hammer.
While you will be able to create the Genesis Hammer right away, you most likely won’t be able to unlock every loop upon learning it.
The Genesis Hammer recipe has eight Effect loops in total. You will need a much higher Alchemy Level to unlock its full potential.
Even so, it is recommended that you still synthesize it as even in its incomplete stage, the Genesis Hammer will be very useful going forward.
You can synthesize a better version later in the game. There is also the Item Rebuild option to improve your Genesis Hammer if you have enough Gems.
