The Golden Tools are the strongest versions of the five main farming tools. They have powerful effects that are very stamina efficient and either cover large areas or are stronger versions of the basic ones.
Although not specifically a Golden Tool, the Sprinkler will be included in this guide as it is effectively the “Golden” version of the Watering Can.

Golden Sickle
Requirements: None
On a random day in Summer Year 1, an event will occur where you hear a loud noise at night. On the following day, the carpenter will tell you to look around your ranch for damage. There is a tree on your ranch that will have a hole you can jump into.
In the cave, a gnome will ask you if you use the sickle. Say yes and he will put the golden sickle in your tool shed on the following day.
Golden Axe
Requirements: None
On a random day in Winter Year 1, an event will occur where you hear a rumbling sound at night. On the following day, the carpenter will tell you to look around your ranch or the mountain. On the Mountain, there is an area to the northwest of the entrance that is now open with a pond.
Go to the front of the pond and use the Axe. The Goddess of the pond will appear and ask you if the Golden Axe she is holding is yours. Answer truthfully with “No” and she will reward you with the Golden Axe.
Golden Hammer
Requirements:
- The First House Upgrade
On a Sunny Saturday in Winter of Year 1, the Carpenter will stop by your house and ask if he can borrow your hammer. Say yes and he will leave the Golden Hammer in your tool shed the following day.
Golden Hoe
Requirements:
- The First House Upgrade
- Met the Gnomes at least once beneath the ranch (during the Golden Sickle event)
During the Fall of Year 1 or 2, a gnome will be lying down near your shipping bin asking for food. Bring him a mushroom from the mountain and he will reward you with Golden Hoe the following day.
Sprinkler
Requirements: None
The Tool Shop will sell the sprinkler on Day 20 of Summer of Year 1 for 2000 G.
Failing a Golden Tool Event
It is impossible to “miss” a tool.
Every Golden Tool event (aside from the sprinkler) has either a question or an action you must make to be rewarded with the tool. However, if you answer the question wrong or fail to complete the action asked of you, don’t worry. The Golden Tool will be immediately available for purchase from the Tool Shop for 2000 G (except for the Golden Axe which will be available for 200 G).
