How to Get the Unique “The Humble Cudgel” Lead Pipe in Fallout: New Vegas
How to Get the Unique “The Humble Cudgel” Lead Pipe in Fallout: New Vegas

The Humble Cudgel is a unique Lead Pipe that can be found inside the sewers below New Vegas. Obtaining the weapon completes the unmarked quest “Cajoling a Cudgel”.

A few quick tips before you go explore the sewers:

  • Maze-like layout. The sewers are incredibly difficult to navigate due to their labyrinthian layout. Make sure to follow the guide thoroughly to ensure that you don’t get lost.
  • Collector’s item. The Humble Cudgel is not a useful weapon. It’s so hard to acquire that most players don’t even know of its existence, and it doesn’t have any useful properties.

For a frame of reference, it has a lower DPS than the Machete Gladius, an easy-to-get, non-unique melee weapon.

Acquisition

To get this item, start by going to Camp McCarran, located south of the New Vegas Strip.

Once there, you’ll find a manhole that you can enter that leads into a sewer. Go inside.

Sealed Sewers

You can find the Sealed Sewers by going west of the place where you entered the sewers.

Be wary, as the entrance to the Sealed Sewers is guarded by 10 or so Fiends. The Sealed Sewers themselves are guarded by an about equal number of Feral Ghouls and Glowing Ones.

Start by turning left instead of right at the entrance, going up the slope instead of down.
