The sidequest “I Don’t Hurt Anymore” is a sidequest in Fallout: New Vegas that is started by speaking to Lt. Gorobets at Camp McCarran.
Quick tips before you start the quest:
- Do not exit dialogue with her until you start the side quest. This side quest is notorious for having multiple ways of locking yourself out of it. If you enter dialogue with Lt. Gorobets and exit it without starting the quest, it will become permanently impossible to start.
- Do not complete the “Three Card Bounty” quest before you start and complete this quest. Same reasoning as above. If you finish the Three Card Bouty quest, Lt. Gorobet’s dialogue will be replaced with generic lines, and the quest will therefore be impossible to finish.
- NCR Quest. This quest takes place at an NCR base and around high-ranking NCR soldiers. If you’ve made the NCR hostile towards you, this quest will be impossible to start.
I Don’t Hurt Anymore
Starting the quest
To start the quest, you will have to enter Camp McCarran, located south of the Strip.

Once inside, locate the 1st Recon tent. It’s located in front of the entrance, across a large courtyard. You’ll know you’re in the correct place if you see several people there wearing red berets.

Inside, you’ll find Lt. Gorobets. The leader of the First Recon squad.

Exhaust his dialogue tree. He will eventually reveal that another 1st Recon member, Cpl. Betsy, is suffering from mental trauma.

After this is revealed to you, the quest “I Don’t Hurt Anymore” will start.
Speaking to Cpl Betsy
Next, go speak to Cpl. Betsy. A woman from the 1st Recon squad. She should be in that same tent.

Talk to her about her trauma.

She will give you the details of what happened, then, you will get access to several dialogue options.
If you have a Medicine skill of 40 or more, you can convince her to seek treatment immediately. You can also do the same thing if you have a Speech skill of 60 or more. Selecting either option will allow you to skip to “Finishing the quest section”.

Select either of those two options if you can, if you can’t, exit the dialogue and keep following the guide.
After that, you’ll have to go talk to some of her teammates. 10 of Spades, Corporal Sterling, and Cpl. Bitter Root (you will have to talk to him last). Exhaust their dialogue about Cpl. Betsy’s trauma, then go talk to Cpl. Betsy again.

Tell her that the rest of her squad thinks she should get treatment for her trauma. She will agree to get it.

Finishing the quest
Next, go talk to Lt. Gorobets again and tell him that Cpl. Betsy is willing to undergo treatment.

Lastly, go to the New Vegas Medical Clinic, located northeast of Camp McCarran, and talk to the doctor there- Doctor Usanagi.

Tell Doctor Usanagi that Cpl. Betsy is going to become her new patient. Doing this will complete the quest.
