In order to unlock Nevernoche, Lila’s ultimate weapon, you must clear the normal quest “Protect the Line of Defense” in Underworld Orim.
Here are the requirements you need to meet for Lila’s ultimate weapon:
- Advance the main story: The ultimate weapon quests only become available once you unlock the final chapter in the main story, Code of the Universe.
- Unlock the “Weapons Recipe 3” node in the Skill Tree: You will need to unlock Bos’ fourth weapon for the “Protect the Line of Defense” quest.
- Synthesize three Unfold units: The quest requires you to deliver three Unfold units to the Orim sorcerer.
- Unlock the Grand Orgen recipe: You will find the Grand Orgen recipe on the top side of the Skill Tree. It costs 1500 SP to unlock.
- Obtain a Demon Claw: The Demon Claw is a guaranteed drop from the Savage Assassin at Erupting Hill.
Unlocking the Nevernoche Recipe
Fast travel to Holy Site of Urdis – Windle, then take the village’s eastern exit.
Make your way past the Philuscha and cross the wooden bridge.

After crossing the wooden bridge, head south.

Keep heading south, then walk down the stone steps.

Once you reach the bottom of the hill, turn east and walk up the slope.

You will arrive at an old Orim watchpost, where you will find an Orim sorcerer.

Talk to him in order to unlock the “Protect the Line of Defense” quest.

This quest requires you to synthesize three units of Unfold, Bos’ fourth weapon.
In order to obtain the recipe for Unfold, you must unlock the “Weapon Recipes 3” loop in the Skill Tree. At this point in the game, you should have this node unlocked as part of your gear progression.

Unfold requires an Ancient Sword as its core ingredient. You can obtain it at the Distant Box, the area northeast of Windle.
Fast travel to Distant Box – Worshiped Spirit Stone, or to Distant Box – Drawbridge Crossing.
Use either the staff or a Golden Axe on the rusty armors to obtain an Ancient Sword. Your tools must be at Gathering Rank 3.

After obtaining the Ancient Swords, return to the Atelier and synthesize the Unfold units.
You can either multiply them with Item Duplication, or create all three in one go using ingredients with the “Synth Quantity +” effect.

With the three Unfold units in hand, head back to the Orim watchpost. Deliver the weapons to the Base Sorcerer and you will complete the quest.

You will obtain the Nevernoche recipe as a reward.

Return to the Atelier and you will automatically learn Nevernoche’s recipe.

Obtaining the Ingredients
Nevernoche requires Demon Claws as its core ingredient. You can obtain it from the Savage Assassin at Erupting Hill, the island east of Blue Life Spring.
Demon Claws
Fast travel to Kark Isles – Erupting Hill. You will find the Savage Assasin near the lake, south of the landmark.

Defeat the monster and you will obtain the Demon Claws as a guaranteed drop.

Synthesizing Nevernoche
After obtaining all ingredients, return to the Atelier. First, create 11 Grand Orgen ingots.

Select the Nevernoche recipe. Start with the Effect 2 loop, and add the Demon Claws to it.

The cursor will then move to the Effect 1 loop. Add as many Grand Orgen ingots as possible. With a maxed out Skill Tree, you will be able to add 11 ingots.

You can now synthesize the recipe, and then add the effects later with Item Rebuild.

Nevernoche’s remaining loops require the following ingredients:
- Grand Orgen (Ice Element level 6 loop).
- Two Ingot-category ingredients (Ice Element levels 3 and 5).
- Two Demon Claws (Bolt Element levels 4 and 6).
- Six Dragon-category ingredients (Fire Element levels 3, 5 and 6; Air Element level 6; Bolt Element level 4; Ice Element levels 4 and 6).
Since Nevernoche doesn’t use Jewel, Magical, or Elixir-category ingredients, it can be tricky to rebuild.
The workaround for it is to synthesize either a Dark Glittering Oval or a Blue Flame Ember. These are the only Dragon-category ingredients with Effect Spread.
This method will also require Secret Keys with the following synthesis effects:
- Add Air Element.
- Add Bolt Element.
- Add Ice Element.
Uncommon and Rare keys are the only ones capable of adding these synthesis effects, which aren’t available for Super Rare keys.
For the Dark Glittering Oval, you will need one unit with the Air element, and another with the Ice element.
If you choose to go with the Blue Flame Ember instead, create one unit with the Ice element, and another with the Bolt element.

Once maxed out, Nevernoche will have the following effects:
- Star Filled Sky: increases the damage dealt based on the number of spirits accumulated by Lila. Can also nullify the damage taken.
- Mark of Assistance 6: raises Lila’s Supporter level.

You can use the Atelier’s furnace to reinforce your weapons. With Reinforce Equipment, you can add Traits and Super Traits, as well as boost the weapon’s stats up to the 999 cap.
Best Weapon for Lila
Unlike in previous Ryza games, Atelier Ryza 3 has standalone recipes for all weapons. With no morphs between them, it means that all five weapons are, in theory, viable.
Because of this, there is a much greater flexibility in build options available.
Lila can use the following weapons, besides Nevernoche.
| Weapon | Primary Ingredient | Secondary Ingredient | Effect 1 | Effect 2 |
| Trisker | Ingot | (Gemstones) | Increases skill damage | Increases Attack by 20 |
| Aurora | Startium | Glowing Coral | Increases physical damage dealt | Supporter level up |
| Oren Herald | Creaminea | Curved Long Nails | Deals additional Fire damageAttacks can inflict Burn | Attacker level up |
| Ventiska | Goldoterion | Trihorn | Reduces the wait time for skills.Increased evasion rate | Defender level up |
These weapons will have slightly lower stats compared to Nevernoche, but the difference isn’t significant.
When synthesizing these other weapons, look for loops that require generic Ingot-category ingredients.
Follow the synthesis flow until you get to that loop, then add as many Grand Orgen ingots as possible to it.
