You will be able to synthesize the Mana Liquid after discovering the bud in the Sunken City of Stars.
Make sure to meet these requirements before proceeding:
- Synthesize the Woodcutter’s Axe: You will need an axe to collect Star Fragments.
- Obtain the Mana Liquid recipe: You will unlock the Mana Liquid recipe after collecting Star Fragments.
- Gather the ingredients: The Mana Liquid requires a Fairystone Fragment, a Metal-type ingredient, and an Ether Aqua.
Unlocking the Recipes
You will need to unlock the Woodcutter’s Axe recipe, which is located on the right side of the Skill Tree.
In order to unlock the Woodcutter’s Axe, you also need to unlock the Grass Sickle recipe. Each recipe requires 250 SP.
For the Mana Liquid recipe, you will need to clear the “Star Fragments” entry in the Exploration Diary.
In order to do so, you will need to collect three Star Fragments at Sunken City of Stars – Submerged Lower Town.
Equip the axe and use it on the large yellow crystals to obtain a Star Fragment.
After obtaining the three Star Fragments, return to the Atelier. You will automatically unlock the Mana Liquid recipe.
Gathering the Ingredients
In order to synthesize the Mana Liquid, you will need the following ingredients:
- A Metal-type ingredient.
- A Fairystone Fragment.
- An Ether Aqua.
You can raise your Gathering Level up to two stars and obtain a Gold Uni as the meta-type ingredient. This will save you a few synthesis materials.
Fast travel to Mausoleum of Eternity – Forgotten Ruins and gather the Uni on the ground.
If you do not have enough SP to raise your Gathering Level, synthesize an Ingot instead.
Still in the Forgotten Ruins, head over to the northwest of the map. Crawl into the hole on the wall.
On the other side, you will find plenty of Fairystone crystals. Use the staff on them to collect two Fairystone Fragments.
Next, fast travel to Sunken City of Stars – Submerged Lower Town.
Use the staff on the pots to collect an Ether Aqua.
Synthesizing the Mana Liquid
Return to the Atelier. Use the cauldron and select the Mana Liquid’s recipe.
Insert the Ether Aqua in the Effect 1 loop.
Enter a Fairystone Fragment in the Traits loop to the left.
Use another Fairystone Fragment in the Quality loop to the right.
Move to the Effect 3 loop on the bottom and insert a Metal-type ingredient to complete the recipe.
This quest does not have a Quality requirement. You can synthesize the Mana Liquid right away.
Fast travel to Sunken City of Stars – Stargazing Upper Town. Use the Mana Liquid on the bud to advance the story.
