Purple Heart Event
Requirement:
- Mary is on purple heart level or higher
- Must have seen the black heart event
Visit the library on a Thursday, Saturday, or Sunday, between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Mary will ask for your help in finding a lost book.

Blue Heart Event
Requirement:
- Mary is on blue heart level or higher
- Must have the largest rucksack upgrade and a free item slot
- Must have seen the purple heart event
You’ll find Mary at the peak of Mother’s Hill on a sunny Monday afternoon. She asks you if you ever cry while reading a book.
Responses:
- “Sometimes.”: +3000 affection points and the special item, Mary’s Book

Yellow Heart Event
Requirement:
- Mary is on yellow heart level or higher
- Must have seen the other heart events
Go to Mary’s house on a Monday between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM. Mary is writing a novel, and she asks you for some ideas.
Responses:
- “I can’t think of anything.”: -2000 affection points
- “How about a farm story?”: +3000 affection points
- “How about Basil’s job?”: No effect.
Rival Heart Events
To view rival heart events, a girl’s affection level towards you must be lower than the event you are trying to view. If you raise a girl’s affection levels too high, you won’t see any of the rival events.
Black Rival Heart Event
- Location: Saibara’s House (Blacksmith)
- When: Any day except Monday
- Time: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Mary visits Saibara to thank him for the tool he had made for Basil. Gray hurts himself while working and Mary tends to his injury.
Blue Rival Heart Event
- Location: The library
- When: Any day except Monday
- Time: 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Mary asks Gray if he’d like to read a novel that she’s writing. Gray agrees to read the novel and Mary is delighted.
Green Rival Heart Event
- Location: Mother’s Hill
- When: Sunday, Tuesday, or Friday, and its Year 2 or later
- Time: 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM
Gray compliments Mary’s novel and gets jealous of how good Mary’s writing is. Mary encourages Gray to keep training as a blacksmith.
Orange Rival Heart Event
- Location: The library
- When: Thursday or Saturday, and its Year 4 or later
- Time: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Gray tells Mary that if not for her encouraging words in the past, he would’ve given up being a blacksmith long ago.
