|Cursed, +120 ATK, can cast Kasap, lowers the wielder’s defense to 0
You’ll find the Massacre Sword in Porthrunnel’s Inn, in a locked room. You’ll need an Ultimate Key to open this door.
This cursed sword can’t be found or bought anywhere else in the game. If you want to use it, you should try to get it as soon as you obtain the Ultimate Key from the queen of Femiscyra, as it can be a big power spike at this point in the game.
Getting the Ultimate Key
After you reach Femiscyra, go to the eastern room. You’ll see two drawers and a person looking at one of them. Talk to him and he’ll escape with a stolen bronze rosary, with the guards coming and seeing you as the suspect.
You’ll have to recover the stolen rosary by exiting the castle and heading to the cave surrounded by mountains on the southeast.
Fight the thief at the end of this dungeon to get back the Rosary. The queen will reward you with the Ultimate Key. You can open all doors in the game now!
Note: doing this quest will also grant you access to the treasury of Femiscyra, where you’ll find the Zenithian Shield. You’ll need four pieces of Zenithian Gear to progress the story.
Finding the Massacre Sword
Now that you have the Ultimate Key, all you have to do is head back to Porthrunnel, the town where you got your ship for the first time, and get into the Inn.
In Porthrunnel’s Inn, head to the second floor and use the Ultimate Key on the locked door. There’s a ghost warning you about the Massacre Sword; she’ll go away after you talk to her. Open the chest in the room to get the Massacre Sword.
The Massacre Sword is yours! You can equip this cursed weapon on your Hero, on Ragnar or on Torneko. This is the second strongest weapon they can wield, after the Liquid Metal Sword, and it can be used to cast Kasap on enemies. But like every cursed item in this game, it has a side effect: it will lower your defense to 0, no matter what armor you wear.
Because both Ragnar and Torneko have copious amounts of HP, it’s a good idea to equip this weapon on one of them, as the high HP can offset the lack of defense, and a high attack value is more important than defense in this game anyways.
Note: if you recruit Psaro for your party during Chapter 6, he can equip himself with cursed items without suffering the side effects! So you can give him this weapon and he’ll still benefit from your best armor.
