In order to synthesize the Meuchelmolder, you will need Dread Leather and an Ancient Sword.
Here are the other requirements you will need to meet:
- Unlock the Meuchelmoder recipe: The Meuchlemolder recipe is on the bottom part of the Skill Tree.
- Unlock the Puni Leather recipe: You will find the node for the Puni Leather recipe on the top-left corner of the Skill Tree.
- Obtain a Giant Puniball: You will need the Giant Puniball as part of the recipe morphs for the Meuchelmolder.
- Obtain Demon Claws: You will also need the Demon Claws for the recipe morphs.
- Obtain an Ancient Sword: The Ancient Sword is one of the core ingredients in the Meuchelmolder recipe.
- Synthesize a Dread Leather: Dread Leather is the second morph in the Puni Leather recipe tree.
Before you start, make sure to unlock the Meuchelmolder and the Puni Leather nodes in the Skill Tree.
Meuchelmolder’s node is on the bottom section of the Skill Tree.

The node for the Puni Leather recipe, meanwhile, is on the top-left corner.

Gathering the Ingredients
Meuchelmolder will require Dread Leather and an Ancient Sword as its core ingredients.
In order to create the Dread Leather, you will need to morph the Puni Leather recipe first. Because of this, you will also need to obtain a Giant Puniball and the Demon Claws.
Demon Claws
You can obtain the Demon Claws as a common drop from the Savage Assassin.
Fast travel to Kark Isles – Erupting Hill. This is the island east of Blue Life Spring.
Head to the lake on the southwest side of Erupting Hill, where you will find the Savage Assassin.

Defeat the monster to obtain the Demon Claws as a drop

Ancient Sword
You will find the Ancient Sword in the Distant Box area, which is located to the northeast of Windle, in the Underworld Orim region.
Fast travel to Distant Box – Altar of Reflecting Sun, or to Distant Box – Worshiped Spirit Stone.
Use either a Staff with Gathering Rank 3 or a Golden Axe on the rusty armors to obtain the Ancient Sword.

Giant Puniball
Among the required ingredients, the Giant Puniball is the trickiest one to obtain. Although it is a common drop, you can only get it from specific large Puni-type monsters.
These monsters can only spawn in two ways:
- Using Secret Keys.
- During the “Usual Monster” random quests.
Using a Secret Key is the easiest way to make these monsters spawn.
For this method, you will need to create a Secret Key with the “Appearance of Rare Monsters” Adventure Effect.

Puni-type monsters will only spawn in the Abandoned Village and in the Old Mansion areas. These two areas are located northwest of the Ancient Cove area.
Fast travel to either Abandoned Village – Former Meeting Place, or to Abandoned Village – Abandoned Central Square.
Use the Secret Key with the “Appearance of Rare Monsters” effect. Follow the quest marker to find the monster.
Repeat the process until the Secret Key spawns either a Darkness Puni or a Big Puni.

Both the Darkness Puni and the Big Puni are guaranteed to drop Giant Puniballs.

As an alternative, you can also obtain Giant Puniballs by digging around with the Spirit Beast in the Abandoned Village and Old Mansion areas. The loot is random and Giant Puniballs are extremely rare, making this method unreliable.
Synthesizing the Meuchelmolder
After collecting all the ingredients, return to the Atelier.
First, you will need to obtain the Dread Leather recipe, which is the second morph in the Puni Leather tree:
- Puni Leather into Master Leather (requires Mythical Hide).
- Master Leather into Dread Leather (requires Demon Claws).
Complete the two morphs and synthesize the Dread Leather, making sure to max out all the Effect loops.

You will need at least nine units of Dread Leather for the Meuchelmolder.
Next, select the Meuchelmolder recipe.
Start from the Effect 4 loop on the top and Insert an Ingot-category ingredient. You can use a Grand Orgen for the extra stat points.

Next, move to the Effect 3 loop. Insert a Cloth-category ingredient. You can use a material with the “Gear Synth All +6” effect to pick up a few additional stat points.

Move to the Effect 2 loop and insert an Ancient Sword in it.

Add a Dread Leather to the Effect 1 loop.

After completing the four core loops, you will unlock the second Effect 1 loop.
Since this loop also requires Dread Leather as the ingredient, you can max it out too. This will make rebuilding the Meuchelmolder easier later on.
Add as many Dread Leather units as possible to this loop. With a maxed out Skill Tree, you should be able to add another eight units.

You can now synthesize the recipe and then, as mentioned earlier, use Item Rebuild to add the remaining effects.

In order to max out all of Meuchelmolder’s loops, you will need the following ingredients:
- Two Dread Leather units (Bolt Element level 3 and Fire Element level 4).
- Three Ancient Swords (Bolt Element levels 3 and 4, Fire Element level 3).
- Two Cloth-category ingredients (Bolt Element level 4, Ice Element level 4).
- 10 Metal-category ingredients (Air Element levels 3 and 4; Bolt Element levels 3 and 9; Fire Element levels 3, 4, and 8; Ice Element level 4).
Since Meuchelmolder doesn’t have any loops for the usual Effect Spread ingredients, it is tricky to max out. The workaround is to create Eternal Monoliths with the Air and Ice elements.
For this method, you will need two Rare or Uncommon Secret Keys – one with the Synthesis Effects “Add Air Element”, and another “Add Ice Element”. Keep in mind that these effects can’t be obtained from Super Rare Secret Keys.

Meuchelmolder has the following effects:
- Art of the Assassin: boosts Precision Guard, increasing the damage reduction and granting additional AP.
- Demon Contract: increased Attack, Defense, Speed and damage reduction when below 50% HP.
- Weapon Preparation: increased damage for critical hits, and also reflects part of the damage taken from enemies.
- Hawkeye: increases critical rate and evasion rate.

You can also use the furnace to reinforce the Meuchelmolder, adding Traits, Super Traits, and also boosting the stats up to 999.
