The mountain and seaside cottages are two additional homes that you can get in Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town. The mountain cottage is given to you by your wife, and the seaside cottage is received as a gift for connecting to another game.
The mountain cottage is an additional home that your wife will give to you as a gift on your 50th wedding anniversary. It takes a very long time to receive this house, but you can find a very important item inside the cottage.
You can find the mountain cottage on Mother’s Hill. It is north of the lake where the Kappa is located, past a wooden bridge.
The exterior area of the cottage is quite cozy. You can gather flowers that bloom in front of the house every day. However, you cannot plant and cultivate crops here, as there are no available plots of farmable land.
Mountain Cottage Interior
The interior of the cottage is quite small. It comes with a table, a chimney, a clock, a calendar, a diary to save your game, and a single bed to sleep on. The mountain cottage is not upgradable, and you can’t buy additional furnishings and decorations for it.
Important Note: Despite being an additional home, your wife and child will not move here with you.
Jewel of Truth
You can find a Jewel of Truth when you inspect the calendar inside the mountain cottage. This jewel is one of the nine jewels you need to find in order to get the Gem of Truth. Other than that, the mountain cottage serves no additional purpose.
The seaside cottage is another additional home in the game. You can only get it by speaking to the Harvest Goddess and connecting to the GameCube game Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life.
You can throw a gift into the Harvest Goddess’s pond and she will appear. She will ask if you would like to connect. Connect 42 times to receive the seaside cottage, which you can then find on Mineral Beach.
Seaside Cottage Interior
You can find some plants, a table, a clock, a calendar, a diary and a bed inside the seaside cottage. There is also a window overlooking the ocean. It is also not possible to buy additional furniture or expand the seaside cottage.
Same with the mountain cottage, your wife and child will not move here with you.
