The Naughty Nightwear is a unique piece of clothing that increases the player’s Luck. It can be acquired from Mick’s Special Stock.
Tips before setting out to get the Naughty Nightwear:
- Speech skill of 30 required. To gain access to Mick’s secret stash, and by extension the Naughty Nightwear, you need to pass a Speech skill check of 30. In case you don’t have the required skill, alcoholic beverages, Mentats, and Meeting People magazines can be used to temporarily increase your Charisma/Speech.
- Stealing it may be required. Due to a bug, the Naughty Nightwear is sometimes absent from Mick’s inventory. The only other way to obtain the Naughty Nightwear is to steal it from a barred-off area, which will cost you some Karma.
- One of the only Luck-boosting items. There are only 3 apparel items in the entire game that boost your Luck stat, out of those, 2 are locked behind faction allegiance. The Naughty Nightwear is the only luck-boosting, non-faction-locked apparel item in the game.
Acquisition of the Naughty Nightwear
To get the Naughty Nightwear, you’ll first have to make your way to Mick & Ralph’s, which is located in the outer portion of Freeside, by the east gate.
Enter the store and look for Mick. He’s usually in the back of the store.
Once you find him, ask to see if he has any special items on offer, then pass the [Speech 30] check.
Mick will then ask you to follow him. Do so. After a short walk, he’ll open a secret door for you in the far left corner of the store.
Speak to him again, he should be selling the Naughty Nightwear.
What to do if he isn’t selling the outfit
In case Mick isn’t selling the outfit, you can steal it from behind the bars, even though the door is inaccessible.
To do so, either use a Stealth Boy or push Mick out of the room. If he sees you take the outfit, he will take it away from you.
Once he can no longer see you, walk up to the bars at the back of the hidden room, crouch, and look for a bright-red colored piece of clothing sitting on an ammo box. You should see the outfit sitting there.
Usage of the Naughty Nightwear
The Naughty Nightwear doesn’t provide any sort of protection, meaning that it’s not useful at all during combat outside of very fringe circumstances, such as for long-range sniping, where you can avoid being hit reasonably well, though the 1% bonus to crit chance hardly helps.
It’s much more useful for non-10 Luck characters for gambling. Gambling is one of the best ways to make insane amounts of money in FNV, however, high luck is required, otherwise, you will not make any caps and are likely to lose most of your games.
Starting at a Luck of 7, you will begin to notice that you’re winning more often, with a Luck of 8-9, risky play is very likely to yield good results. With a Luck of 10, losing your caps is almost impossible outside of very rare circumstances.
