In order to clear the opening part of this chapter, you will need to do the following:
- Visit Valentz Manor.
- Head over to Treppe Hill.
- Head over to the Shipyard at Traveler’s Road.
- Upgrade your equipment and synthesize an Ice Bomb.
Visiting Klaudia
After returning from Traveler’s Road, Ryza decided to pay Klaudia a visit. Fast travel to Kurken Island – Old Town, and enter the Valentz Manor.
Read through the dialogue and you will find out that the dragon from the previous chapter is still around, which is worrying the merchants.

The Dragon Hunting Party
Once the dialogue ends, fast travel to Treppe Hill. Read through the dialogue again, as the village elder, Lubart, Moritz, and Agatha discussing the next steps.
Ryza will butt into the conversation, only to regret it. After the cutscene ends, fast travel to the Atelier.

Back in the Atelier, Ryza and Klaudia will relay the news to Lent and Tao.

Now, head over to Traveler’s Road – Shipyard. Another dialogue will start, and you will find out that Bos has joined the dragon hunting party.

Ryza and the other three will then decide to chase after the group.
You will now head over to Meteor Castle. The road is quite long, however, so make sure you are adequately prepared.
Synthesizing an Ice Bomb
Before heading over to the mountain path leading to Meteor Castle, make sure to upgrade your equipment first.
Synthesizing an Ice Bomb will be particularly valuable for this chapter. Aside from the elemental damage against Fire monsters, the Ice Bomb can also apply a slow down effect.
In order to synthesize the Ice Bomb, fast travel to Sunken Mine – Fairystone Mines. Head over to the deepest part, then use the staff on the rocks with blue ores.

By doing so, you will collect Aqua Ores, which you will need for the Ice Bomb’s recipe.

You will also need Seafood-category ingredients, which you can obtain by collecting shells. You will find a few of them near the shore in the Fairystone Mine, and also on the beach at the Traveler’s Road shipyard.

With all the necessary ingredients in hand, return to the Atelier and select the Explosive Uni recipe. You will need to complete two morphs next:
- Explosive Uni into Ice Caltrop (requires a Blue Supplement).
- Ice Caltrop into Ice Bomb (requires an Aqua Ore).
After completing the morphs, focus on the Effect 1 and Effect 2 loops in the Ice Bomb’s recipe. The Effect 1 loop will boost the items’ Ice damage, while the Effect 2 loop will add the Slowdown debuff.
Effect 3 will add Frostbite, which applies a damage-over-time (DoT) status condition on enemies. While useful, this effect isn’t as powerful as the other two.
