The easiest way to synthesize a Powerful Fish Bait of Quality 70 is by leveling up the recipe’s Quality loop.
Here is an easy checklist to follow for this quest:
- Raise your Alchemy Level: The Powerful Fish Bait only requires Alchemy Level 7. For this quest, however, you will need Alchemy Level 20 to unlock the extra ingredients.
- Synthesize a Hammer: You will need a Hammer to access the area north of Traveler’s Road. It requires Ethereal Stones, which you can find at Meteor Castle.
- Obtain a Fragrant Honey Tree: After obtaining the Hammer, you will gain access to the Maple Delta. This is where you will find the Fragrant Honey Tree for the Powerful Fish Bait.
- Collect the following ingredients: You will need three high Quality Kumine Fruits and two units of Flour.
Synthesizing a Hammer
The first thing you need to do is synthesize a Hammer, which requires an Ethereal Stone. Fast travel to Meteor Castle – Dragon’s Fire Tower. Head over to the east side where you will find these stone pillars.
Use the Woodcutter’s Axe on them to obtain the Ethereal Stone.
Fast travel back to the Atelier and synthesize a Hammer.
Gathering the Ingredients
After crafting the Hammer, you will be able to collect the ingredients for the Powerful Fish Bait.
For this recipe, you will need Fragrant Honey Trees and Kumine Fruits. You will also need to synthesize at least two units of Flour. Look for ingredients with at least 40 Quality.
Obtaining the Fragrant Honey Tree
Equip your Hammer and fast travel to Traveler’s Road – Northern Fork. Head over to the northwest exit.
Use the Hammer on the boulders blocking the path.
After this, you will gain access to the Maple Delta.
Head deeper into the area and use the Woodcutter’s Axe on the trees.
All trees around will drop the Fragrant Honey Tree. Try to obtain a Fragrant Honey Tree with at least 40 Quality.
Collecting the Kumine Fruit
You will need Kumine Fruits to level up the recipe’s Quality loop.
Fast travel to Sunken Mine – Fairystone Mines. Head over to the ruins at the bottom and use your staff on the wooden boxes.
Collect at least three Kumine Fruits. Again, make sure they all have at least 40 Quality.
Synthesizing the Powerful Fish Bait
Once you collect all the ingredients, fast travel back to the Atelier. Use the cauldron and select the Delicious Bait recipe.
The Recipe loop required for the morph is located just below the central Effect 1 loop.
The other important part is the first Quality loop, just above the Effect 1 loop. It adds 20 Quality to the recipe at Fire Element Level 3.
Insert the two units of Flour into the Effect 1 loop.
Flour has a Synth Quality +5 effect when used as an ingredient. With two units, you will add 10 Quality to the recipe.
Next, add the three Kumine Fruits to level up the first Quality loop. With this, you will meet the minimum Quality requirement.
Insert the Fragrant Honey Tree into the Recipe loop. Use the one with the highest Quality available.
You will then complete the morph. Synthesize the recipe to obtain the Powerful Fish Bait of Quality 70 or better.
Take the Powerful Fish Bait to the fisherman at Kurken Port and you will complete the quest.
