The pumpkin is a special summer crop in Harvest Moon: Back to Nature. Its seeds become available at the supermarket after shipping 100 tomatoes, 100 corn, 100 onion, and 100 pineapples. Even though it is a special crop, it’s not the most profitable crop during summer.

Important Note: Each bag of seeds has 9 seeds that will fill a 3×3 square of tilled soil when planted. If you plant any seed on untilled soil, it will not grow and you will lose it forever.

Profit Using 3×3 and Fat-C Method

For non-renewable crops, we will calculate the profit per bag per day with the formula (Total Profit per Bag / Days to Grow).

The Fat-C Method

This planting method involves tilling a 3×3 square of soil and leaving one square on the edge untilled, planting just 8 crops instead of 9. This is the most efficient method of planting crops during the early stages of the game since the center crop is inaccessible without an upgraded watering can.

Pumpkin Recipes

Pumpkins are the main ingredient of pumpkin pudding and miso soup, but you can also create other recipes using it.

Gifting Pumpkins

Most people in the game will react positively when receiving pumpkins. Instead of giving the crop directly as a present, it is better to first create a recipe using it.

• You can use pumpkins as an offering to the Harvest Goddess by tossing it into the waterfall.
