How To Get The Q-35 Matter Modulator In Fallout: New Vegas

The Q-35 Matter Modulator is a unique plasma rifle that can be found in the REPCONN Headquarters, inside of the storage closet.

Here are some quick tips before you go get the rifle:

  • Robots inside. The entirety of the REPOCONN Headquarters is filled with robots which will turn hostile if you rush through the facility. However, this guide will show you how to get past them without the need for violence.
  • The acquisition can be sped up with high Science and Lockpick skills. If you have 100 Science or 100 Lockpick skills, you can skip most of the steps and get the gun right as you enter the facility.

Acquisition

First, regardless of which approach you’re taking, you’re going to have to make your way to the REPCONN Headquarters, located north of Black Mountain.

The Fast Way

If you have 100 Lockpick or 100 Science, you can simply take the door on the right side of the room. You’ll recognize it by the dead fiends.

Go through the door around the corner.

Gameplay Tips

  • Thanks to its improved ammo economy, this rifle is great for early-game energy builds.
  • Later, you are most likely going to switch out this weapon for the objectively superior Multiplas rifle.
