Psaro can be recruited as a playable character after you finish the two dungeons that come with the extra Chapter 6 of the Nintendo DS remake.
Preparations
- Finish the Game: Defeat Psaro and finish the game to unlock Chapter 6.
- Be at least Level 40: These are the hardest and longest dungeons in the game.
- Get the best gear: Equip your 4 main party members with the best gear you can find in the game: Full Zenithian set, full Liquid Metal set; Falcon Knife Earrings on Alena; Flail of Destruction on Ragnar; etc.
Finding the new dungeon
Once you defeat Psaro at the end of Chapter 5 and watch the credits, save and restart the game. You’ll begin Chapter 6 at the Endor church. In Rosehill you’ll see that Psaro buried Rose, and in El Forado you’ll find out that Yggdrasil flowers can resurrect people, and they appear in “a place where something changed”.

Zoom to Azimuth town and there’ll be a big hole now where the king is. Get inside to enter the new dungeon.

Getting through Azimuth Dungeon
BF 1
This floor is a linear path through two rooms. Follow it and go down to the next one.
BF 2
On the first bifurcation you see, take the east path to get into an optional room. You’ll travel in a raft here and find four chests. The one on the east edge has a Pandora Box, a stronger version of the Mimic enemy. Near that one there is a Mini Medal. On the other side of the cave you’ll find a Yggdrasil Leaf and a Strength Ring.

Go back to the bifurcation and take the north path now to the next room. The immediate path to the east has a Mini Medal. Take the path north and then east to find the stairs to the next floor.

BF 3
There are many bridges on this floor. The west bridge leads to a Seed of Agility. Take the eastern bridge and on the next bifurcation you’ll find a Mini Medal on the south bridge, and the stairs to the next floor on the west bridge.

BF 4 and BF 5
You’ll find a house that has giant furniture when you get inside. Follow the stairs and you’ll appear in front of another house just like the last one, but this time there is an inn inside. Take this chance to rest.
Inside the inn you’ll see the entrance to BF 6, which is optional. Exiting the inn and taking the cave north you’ll find another entrance to BF 6 to your right, and the entrance to BF 7 further north.

BF 6
This optional floor has a lot of cells. The southeast chest has a Pandora Box, and the northeast one has a Seed of Magic. If you enter through the cave outside the inn, there is another chest with 1200 Gold.
BF 7
This floor can be quite confusing. The easiest way is to follow the first path until it ends, then turn east to get the chest with a Death Mask, then walk back and take the path west, without changing directions at any bifurcation until you see the next set of stairs.

BF 8
Walk to the western side to find a chest with Elevating Shoes. These shoes give your character EXP with every step you take. Walk north to find the exit of this dungeon and the entrance to the next one.

Going through Pinnacle Tower
Enemies are actually easier in this second dungeon. You’ll also find a church here where you can Zoom and save whenever you need.
First floor
The east ramp for a Mini Medal. Take the west ramp to get to the other side of the room. On the north edge you’ll see two stairs. The east one takes you to a chest with a Cobra Claw.
The stairs to the west take you to the next room. Jump to the pit in the middle to land beside the stairs to the next floor.
Path for the next floor

BF 1
The chest in the middle is actually a Pandora Box. You can take the ramp on the east corner and walk into the water from up there. Follow this invisible path to reach the chest with a Robe of Serenity.

Get back to the start of the room and exit through the north to reach a forest. Grab the chest with gold in the middle of the forest and don’t forget to visit the church to the northeast, so you can zoom there later. The north path takes you to the next room.

Take the Mini Medal on the tombs and follow the path until it splits into four directions. The northeastern path takes you through some sets of stairs and a chest with an Angel Leotard at the end. The other two paths take you to the next floor.

Back to the first floor
The eastern side of this room has two chests with Boxer Shorts and Horse Manure. The southeastern side has a room with a Demon Spear that you can equip on Psaro when you recruit him. The room in the middle takes you to the second floor.

Second floor
The southwest corner has a Mini Medal. Go north and take the ramp on the west side, crossing the narrow path on the water.
You’ll see two ramps. Take the eastern one and turn south to find a chest with a Kerplunk Bracer. Go back and take the north path to get into a small room with an exit that goes back to the first floor.

First Floor (third time!)
Take the stairs down and pick the east path (the other one only has a Mimic). On the northeastern side of the room you can climb some long stairs to find a chest with a Recovery Ring. Go all the way south and then head east to find the entrance to the next room.

Climb the ramp ahead of you. The first chest you’ll see is a Pandora Box. Go all the way to the eastern side and then walk down on the ramp to the left to pick a chest with a Ruby of Protection.

Now climb every ramp you see going upwards until you reach the entrance to the next room. You’ll also see a chest with a Demon Spear to the left of it.

Enter this room and the next one, and you’ll find a place full of eggs and chickens, with two characters arguing in the middle. Talk to them and no matter what option you choose, a boss battle will start.

| Foo Yung | Chow Mein |
| 2800 HP – Can cast Kabuff, Blistering Flames, Cold Breath and Fuddle Dance | 3200 HP – Can cast Concentrate, Toss Boulders and Feathers |
| This fight is much easier if you focus on taking down Foo Yung first, because of his supporting attacks. Cast Sap on him whenever he casts Kabuff, and keep your party with Insulatle up at all times while Foo Yung is alive. Once Foo Yung is down, just keep Kabuff up on your party and go ham with physical attacks only, healing while needed. When he casts Feathers, all your physical attacks will fail on that turn, so use that turn to heal and buff your party. |
Once you beat both of them, a flower will blossom on the painting that was floating beyond. Jump through the pit to get back to Azimuth.
Finding Psaro
Now that the flower has blossomed, you need to climb all the way to the top of the Yggdrasil in El Forado. You’ll find the blossomed flower there.
Zoom to Rosehill and place the flower on Rose’s grave. She’ll come back to life, join your party and ask you to take her to Psaro.

Now you only have to Zoom to Heaven’s Haven, get through Psaro’s Castle and find him in the same way you did at the end of Chapter 5.
This time however, instead of fighting, Rose will make him transform back. After a short dialogue, he’ll join your party to defeat Amon.
Finally you got Psaro! He’s by far the most powerful character after you equip it well and level him up a bit, and you can equip cursed items on him without getting any negative effects. You’ll want to have Psaro with you before fighting with Amon.
