Veronica is a recruitable companion with ties to the Brotherhood of Steel. She can be recruited at the 188 trading post as long as you don’t imply that you have anything against the Brotherhood.

Quick tips before you recruit Veronica:

• Don’t imply that you have anything against the Brotherhood of Steel. If you, at any point while recruiting her, imply that you have any qualms with the Brotherhood of Steel, Veronica will become permanently un-recruitable.
• No quest required. There is no quest required to recruit here, nor are there any enemies in the area in which she’s located. This means you can recruit her as early as level 1.
• Cannot be recruited if you already have a companion. If you already have a companion in your party, Veronica will refuse to join you unless you get rid of them. The only exceptions to this rule are Rex and ED-E.

Recruiting Veronica

To recruit Veronica, make your way to the 188 Trading Post, located down the road north of Novac.

Once there, go up the road towards the bar.

Look for a woman wearing a dark brown cloak, equipped with a power fist. She’ll be standing right beside the bar. That’s Veronica. Talk to her.

From here, select the following dialogue options.

• “I’m not entirely sure.”

• “You live in a hole in the ground?”

• “So you just leave your family in the bunker?”

• “Go ahead.”

• Any of the first 3 options.

• “I just kind of drift from place to place.”

• “Okay, let’s travel together.”

• “Actually, I’m more comfortable now that I know you’ve had some training.”

After selecting that final dialogue option, Veronica will join your party.
