The Red Victory Grenade Rifle is a unique Grenade Rifle that you can find in the location “Dry Wells”, after completing the Lonesome Road DLC with one of two specific endings.
Quick tips before you go get the gun:
- Incredibly difficult area. The location in which the gun is found is filled with some of the most powerful enemies in the game – heavily armored ghoulified Legionnaires. Luckily, they are less powerful than their NCR counterparts due to their reliance on melee weapons.
- Irradiated area. The entire area is heavily irradiated. Bring plenty of Rad-X and Rad Away. Do note that the radiation also makes the ghoul enemies regenerate HP.
- Lonesome Road DLC required. To get this weapon, you must have the Lonesome Road DLC installed.
Acquisition
First, you’ll have to make sure that you get one of two endings in the Lonesome Road DLC. Specifically, you’ll need either ending #2 or ending #3 from our Lonesome Road Ending guide (link to the guide can be found here).
Once you got either one of the two endings, you may proceed to the “Boat to Dry Wells” location, which will be marked on your map when you finish the DLC. It’s located within Cottonwood Cove.

Take the boat to Dry Wells.

You’ll find yourself in the dilapidated remains of a Legion settlement. Follow the road up the hill, past destroyed buildings, until you reach a fallen electrical tower. Beware of the enemies that wait ahead.

Turn to the west and walk up the hill you see in that direction. You’ll walk past several ruined houses and another electrical tower on your way.

Once there, turn to the South. You’ll see a devastated tent frame in front of you. The gun case with the weapon is inside the tent frame.

Comparing The Red Victory Grenade Rifle To The Great Bear Grenade Rifle
- The weapon technically fires faster than any other Grenade Rifle, but due to the weapon’s single-shot nature, this does not affect the weapon in any way.
- It has the lowest AP cost to fire in VATS of all the Grenade Rifle variants (29 AP to fire vs 35 AP to fire).
- It’s the 2nd most durable Grenade Rifle variant (620 shots before breaking vs 495 shots before breaking)
Gameplay Tips
- Much like its NCR alternative, this weapon is more of a colletor’s piece. This is mainly due to its best feature, rate of fire, being effectively non-functional.
- The non-unique Grenade Launcher outclasses this weapon in basically every way, making it a superior option.
