How To Find The Roughin' It! Bedroll Kit In Fallout: New Vegas

The Roughin’ it! Bedroll Kit is an item added by the Lonesome Road DLC that allows the player to sleep in any outdoor location. It can be found in 3 places: near the Hopeville missile silo bunker west entrance, At the ruined highway interchange, and near the Ashton silo control station.

Quick tips before you head off to grab the Bedroll Kit:

  • Hopeville is the best place to get it. Despite there being 3 places where the Bedroll Kit can be acquired, Hopeville has the easiest enemies and is also the first open location of the DLC, meaning you can get to it the fastest. To get the Bedroll Kit here, you don’t even have to fight any enemies.
  • Picking up multiple Bedroll Kits may break them. If you or any active companions have more than one Bedroll Kit at the same time, the bedroll can refuse to work.
  • The Bedroll Kit may refuse to work. Sometimes, especially on the PC version of the game, the Bedroll Kit can cease to work entirely. Reloading a save, restarting the game, and dropping and then picking up the bedroll are possible ways of fixing this bug, but it’s not a guarantee.

Acquisition

To acquire the Roughin’ It! Bedroll Kit in Hopeville, simply travel to the Hopeville Missile Silo Bunker, located in the southwestern corner of the map. You may remember this place as the first place where Ulysses.

Turn right. You’ll see a plank and some sand that you can use to climb up top to the concrete entrance to the silo. Due to some invisible walls, it may take a little while, but with some jumping, you’ll reach the top.
