You will obtain the Scythe Axe by adding a Woodcutter’s Axe to the Reaper’s Scythe recipe. It’s a very simple and useful morph as it allows you to save a space when carrying your gathering tools . Its Recipe loop requires Lightning Element Level 4.
Collecting the Ingredients
You will only need one specific ingredient for this recipe which is a Large Bone.
Obtaining the Large Bone
The Large Bone is a common drop from Weasel and Wyrm-type monsters. You will easily find them at Traveler’s Road – Central Lime Plains.
You will likely need to synthesize extra Woodcutter’s Axes. The Recipe loop for the Scythe Axe requires a relatively high Element Level.
After synthesizing the Woodcutter’s Axe, pay attention to the item’s Element Level. You will need at least Lightning Element Level 3 to synthesize the Scythe Axe.
At this point in the game, you will likely need two or three axes to meet this requirement.
Synthesizing the Scythe Axe
In order to synthesize a Scythe Axe, you will need the following ingredients:
- A Large Bone.
- A Wood-type ingredient.
- A Woodcutter’s Axe (requires Lightning Element Level 4).
Use the cauldron and select the Reaper’s Scythe recipe.
The Recipe loop is on the left side of the recipe, and requires only two ingredients to be unlocked.
Start by adding the Large Bone to the Quality loop.
Next, add the Wood-type ingredient to the Traits loop.
For the third and final step, add the Woodcutter’s Axe to the Recipe loop.
Make sure to meet the Lightning Element Level 4 requirement. After completing the morph, select “Yes”.
You will synthesize a Scythe Axe, but without the additional effects.
The Scythe Axe contains two additional effects:
- Effect 3, which unlocks Gathering Up L.
- Effect 4, which unlocks Add Metal.
You can add these effects later on in the game. The fastest way to do it is by using the “Item Rebuild” option.
Alternatively, you can also do it by synthesizing a new Scythe Axe from scratch with all effects.
Scythe Axe Uses
With the Scythe Axe, you will be able to save one space in your gathering tools’ inventory.
The Scythe Axe has the Reaper’s Scythe’s Cut and the Woodcutter’s Axe’s Chop effects. This allows it to collect two different types of ingredients at the same time which effectively increases the total amount of materials you get per gather.
