You’ll need five green fragments to restore this pillar. You’ll find them in L’Arca, Faraday and Greenthumb. Restoring it will let you visit the Roamer Encampment.
Warning: This guide contains some minor spoilers for the first chapter of Dragon Quest VII.
Finding the first fragment
The first one is in L’Arca in the present time. After you unlock the island you can go there sailing to the west of Estard.
Visit the town and enter the weapon shop from the back door. The first Green Fragment is beside the bed.
Finding the second fragment
You’ll find it in Faraday in the present time. This new island is located to the east of Estard.
Go to Faraday Castle and from the throne room, exit through the southern door. Go to the northeastern corner and go down the stairs.
From there, walk south and pull the lever to open the jail door (you’ll have to turn the camera to see the lever). Get inside the prison room and you’ll find the Green Fragment lying on the floor.
Finding the third fragment
Recommended level: 15
The next fragments are found on Greenthumb Island; you’ll need to enter Groddy Grotto to find them. You can skip the town and go there directly if you want to. You’ll find the cave in the northwestern corner of the map, surrounded by a poisonous marsh.
Inside the cave, head west, then north until the path ends and turn to the left. You’ll find the stairs to the next floor. Go down, head straight south and you’ll find the next set of stairs.
From here, head south and then turn right on every intersection until you reach the eastern side of the room. The next stairs are some steps to the north of you.
Go to the western end of the room and turn north. Go up those stairs, take the next stairs crossing the poisonous marsh, and you’ll reach a small room with the next Green Fragment.
Finding the fourth fragment
Recommended level: 15-16
Walk back two floors and take the stairs to the south this time. Take the northern path to the next room, which looks like a narrow line. Follow it until you reach a big room with some treasure chests. After a brief cutscene, you’ll have to fight a boss.

| Focus on the goody bags first, as their skills can make you miss turns or lose MP. Each one has 110 HP, so they should fall in 3-4 attacks. After you deal with them, Grody won’t give you much trouble, but keep your party always healed in case he casts Sizzle on everyone. |
After you defeat him, you can search the three chests in the room. The one on the left has a Mini Medal, and the other two have some gold and a Mimic enemy.
Exit the cave through the south and you’ll find the next Green Fragment!
Finding the fifth fragment
To find this one you’ll first have to finish the Greenthumb questline in the past, to be able to visit the island in the present. You’ll find the island sailing to the west of Emberdale.
Once you land there, go to the same place where Greenthumb used to be. Search nearby the fountain in the middle of the ruins and you’ll find the last Green Fragment.
Now that you have all the pieces you need, you can Zoom back to the Shrine of Mysteries and place all the pieces in the bottom left pillar. Doing so will teleport you to the Roamer Encampment, where you can continue the main quest and help the roamers with their ancient prophecy.
