This pillar is hidden deep beneath the Dig Site. You’ll find the three fragments you need to restore the pillar in Buccanham, the Divine Shrine and the Strange Shrine. You must restore this pillar to access the dungeon where you’ll fight Orgodemir for the first time.
Warning: this guide contains spoilers for Dragon Quest VII.
Finding the first fragment
You’ll get the first fragment just by following the main quest, near the end of the Buccanham scenario in the past.
After you get the Glowmoss, and before heading to the Beacon, make sure you have one Prism Dew with you. If you don’t, go back to the Shrine of Mysteries and take the Blue Teleportal to get to the lake where you can fill your bottle with one.

Follow the road to the north of Buccanham until you reach the big tower.
Inside the tower, you simply need to follow the bright footprints left by the monster until you reach the top of the tower.

Use the Prism Dew at the beacon to open a portal. Keep following the footprints and you’ll reach the next boss.

Togrus Maximus
1580 HP, can cast Stomp and Midheal.
This fight is easier than the previous boss in Buccanham. Cast Kabuff a couple times on your party, because all his attacks are physical. After that, just make sure to attack him with your best abilities and keep your party healed. He should fall in 5 turns or so.
After defeating Togrus Maximus, he’ll drop the first Mysterious Fragment.
Finding the second fragment
You’ll find this fragment in the Coral Cave, on the path to the Divine Shrine. Head to the east of Faraday, past the bridge, and enter the Pool of Piety.

Enter the temple and talk to the guard on the second floor. Show the Sacred Stone to the guard and he’ll unlock the door on the first floor.

Go to the first floor and exit through the north gate. Walk through the lilies and step on the flower to be transported to the Coral Cave.

Unlike other places in the present time, the Coral Cave has enemies, but they’re very under-leveled for this point in the story, so they shouldn’t give you much trouble.
Follow the path northeast and at the bifurcation, take the path south to find a chest with an Enclosure Plan. This optional item can be used to expand the Haven Town. Go back and take the north path to reach the next floor.

Go up the stairs twice and you’ll be on the surface again. Follow the only path available and take the stairs down to go below the waters once more.

Go down one floor and you’ll reach a crossroads between three paths. The path east has a friendly minion asking for help, but you can’t do anything to help him yet.
Take the path south and go down another floor to find the second Mysterious Fragment.

Finding the third fragment
You’ll find this fragment further in the story, after you restore the Divine Shrine and get the Skystone. With the Skystone, you’ll be able to reach the small area surrounded by mountains to the north of Wetlock.
Zoom to Wetlock and get on your Skystone, fly there and land on the Strange Temple. Talk to the man inside and he’ll give you the last Mysterious Fragment you need.

Finding the Mysterious Pillar
Recommended level: 30
Now that you have all the fragments, the last step is finding the actual pillar. If you head to your house there will be a guard telling you that King Donald is looking for you (or you can head to him directly).

Go to Estard Castle and talk to him. He’ll tell you about monsters coming out of the Dig Site. Head there by flying northwest or Zoom to El Ciclo and fly a bit south.

Near the end of the Dig Site there’s a new staircase heading down. Go there and continue heading down until you see a big pit. Fall into the pit and follow the narrow path south.

Eventually you’ll reach a bifurcation, take the path left and follow it until the stairs at the end. You’ll get into a room with the Mysterious Pillar.

You can place all the Mysterious Fragments now or, if you want to exit the tunnel, you can head back and take the path right on the previous bifurcation to find a teleport pad.
When you restore the pillar, you’ll be teleported to the Malign Shrine, a large dungeon with one of the hardest bosses up until this point in the story, so make sure your party is healed and well-geared.
