Sleepytyme is a unique stealth-oriented 10mm SMG that can be purchased from the Vendortron at the Gun Runners.
A few tips before you go get the SMG:
- Expensive. The SMG can easily cost 10,000 caps or more.
- Can be circumvented with the ghost dupe glitch. Ghost duping is a glitch that allows you to avoid paying the high price for the SMG. Check out the guide here for more info.
- Gun Runners’ Arsenal DLC Required. To get this weapon, you’ll need to have the Gun Runners’ Arsenal DLC installed.
Acquisition
The weapon can be purchased at the Gun Runners, located south of the Strip North Gate.
Once there, simply speak to the Vendortron and buy the SMG from it.
Comparing Sleepytyme To The 10mm SMG
- The damage is higher (22 damage vs 19 damage).
- The critical damage is higher (22 critical damage vs 19 critical damage).
- The fire rate is higher (10 attacks/second vs 9 attacks/second).
- The critical hit chance multiplier is higher (0.1x vs 0.08x).
- The spread is lower than the base 10mm SMG, but higher than the fully upgraded version (1.7 vs 2.2 vs 1.2).
- The magazine size is higher (40 vs 30).
- It comes equipped with a suppressor.
- It’s considered to be an improved holdout weapon.
Gameplay Tips
- Sleepytyme is one of the best stealth weapons to use against unarmored or lightly armored opponents. This is thanks to its high fire rate and access to HP and JHP ammo.
- Due to its relatively easy acquisition (provided you can get past the high purchase) cost, it’s an easy pick for early to mid-game stealth builds.
- Thanks to it being an improved holdout weapon, it can be taken into casinos as long as you have a Sneak skill of 50 or above.
