How To Get The Unique “Sprtel-Wood 9700” Gatling Laser In Fallout: New Vegas

The Sprtel-Wood 9700 is a unique Gatling Laser that can be purchased from Gloria Van Graff, who can be found in the Silver Rush shop in Freeside.

Quick Tips before you go purchase the weapon:

Expensive. This gun can easily cost 25,000 caps or more, depending on your Barter skill and your Freeside reputation.
- Can be circumvented with the ghost dupe glitch. Ghost duping is a glitch that allows you to avoid paying the high price for the laser. Check out the guide here for more info on ghost duping.
Gun Runners’ Arsenal DLC Required. To get this weapon, you’ll need to have the Gun Runners’ Arsenal DLC installed.

Acquisition

In case you’re having issues finding the Silver Rush, you can follow the instructions below.

Start by traveling to the The Strip North Gate, located in Freeside, northwest of Camp McCarran.

Go down the street to the northeast and take the last turn to the left.

You’ll see the Silver Rush at the end of this street.

Go inside and speak to Gloria Van Graff, she’ll be standing behind the weapon-covered counter.

Speak to her and buy the weapon from her.

The Sprtel-Wood 9700 deals more damage than both the regular and upgraded Gatling Laser (16 damage vs 10 damage vs 13 damage), and deals equally more critical hit damage (16 critical damage vs 10 critical damage vs 10 critical damage).
The Sprtel-Wood 9700 fires slower than any other Gatling Laser (20 attacks/second vs 30 attacks/second).
It has a higher critical hit chance multiplier (0.04x vs 0.02x).
It takes fewer AP to fire in VATS (8 AP to fire vs 12 AP to fire).
It’s slightly more accurate (0.5 spread vs 0.6 spread).
It weighs less than the regular Gatling Laser, but more than the fully upgraded Gatling Laser (15 pounds vs 18 pounds vs 9 pounds).

This weapon is the cornerstone of many energy weapons builds, thanks to it’s absurdly high chance to crit compared to every other automatic laser weapon. This is thanks to the Light Touch and Laser Commander perks, as well as the Set Lasers For Fun challenge perk (which requires the player to inflict 16,000 damage with energy pistols and 25,000 damage with energy rifles to get the max rank). These perks apply their benefits to this weapon after the base multiplier, allow you to get a 21% chance to critically hit with each of the 20 beams this weapon fires per second.
While this weapon is generally more practical than the Gatling Laser, the fully upgraded version of the base weapon actually has a slightly higher DPS value thanks to its higher rate of fire.
