You need three Red Fragments to restore this pillar. You’ll find them all in Gröndal. Restoring it will let you travel to El Ciclo, where you can continue your main quest.
Warning: this guide contains some minor spoilers for Dragon Quest VII.
Finding the first fragment
Recommended level: 22
You’ll need to save the village of Gröndal first to get this fragment. You can go there after you restore the third Green Pillar.
When you reach the island, you can rest at the inn near the teleport pod. If you don’t need to, just follow the main road west to find the town of Gröndal.
Inside the town, head to the building on the top left and talk to the mayor, who’s sleeping in the bed. When you try to exit the building he’ll wake up and ask for your help.
Exit the town through the north and you’ll see Yggdrasil just a few steps ahead. Talk to the girl sleeping in the hut to the right of the tree, then go back to the mayor’s house and talk to him.
Head back to Yggdrasil and after a short dialogue you’ll trigger a boss fight.

When the fight is over, head back to the hut, talk to the girl and pick the Pixie Pitcher on the floor. Use it to collect a Dew of Life from the Yggdrasiltree.
Use the Dew of Life on the girl, then head back to Gröndal and use the same item on the mayor. He’ll tell you to use that drop to clean the well, but when you try to do it, the people in the village will stop you.
Talk to the mayor and head back again to Yggdrasil. The girl in there will open up a passage for you to reach the well from the underground.
The path is quite long, but completely linear and without any optional treasures. At the end of it, you’ll be at the well, which is guarded by a Well Wisher. Kill him and use the Dew of Life in this area to purify the well.
Exit the pit through the north and you’ll see everyone is healed, but before you can celebrate, a boss fight will start.

Once you finish this fight, speak to the mayor and rest. The next day, talk to the farmer on the right side of town. He’ll give you the first Red Fragment. After this you can also talk to the girl in Yggdrasil to receive a Staff of Salvation.
Finding the second fragment
After you helped the people in Gröndal in the past, go back to the present and visit the island sailing to the northeast of Al-Balad.
Walk to Gröndal and enter the big mansion on the top right of the town. You’ll have to enter through the back door, as the main door is locked.
Head to the basement and speak to the maid so she lets you pass. You’ll find the second Red Fragment in the eastern room.
Finding the third fragment
Head to Yggdrasil to find out the tree has fully grown. If you don’t have any Yggdrasil Leaf in your inventory, you can find one here. Near the base of the tree you’ll find the last Red Fragment lying on the floor.
Now that you have all the fragments you can just Zoom back to the Shrine of Mysteries and place them all on the middle Red Pillar. Doing this will teleport you to El Ciclo, where you’ll continue the main story and help a town stuck in a time loop!
