T’n’T board

Treasures n’ Trapdoors (T’n’T) is a minigame that can be played to win a multitude of prizes that can greatly benefit the player. Throughout the game, there are 5 different T’n’T boards.

The rules of the game are simple. The player starts on the ‘start’ tile and must traverse through the game board to land exactly on the ‘finish’ tile within a limited number of dice rolls.

The game board is filled with numerous different tiles. Some of these tiles may benefit the player by providing more dice rolls, giving prizes, or healing the party. However, other tiles may also harm the player with monster encounters, trapdoors, or other hazards.

The game ends when either the number of dice rolls runs out, the player lands on the finish tile, falls through a trapdoor, or the party runs out of hp.

Some important things to note about T’n’T:

  • Entry Requirements: Each round of T’n’T requires a T’n’T ticket to play. These tickets cannot be purchased anywhere in the game and can only be found in searchable locations or as prizes.
  • Free Entry: Completing the Nadiria T’n’T Board will earn you a T’n’T Free Pass which will allow you to play T’n’T without needing a ticket.
  • Time Consuming: On the later boards, a round of T’n’T can take a very long time. For example, it took over 2 hours to complete the last board.
  • RNG Reliant: T’n’T is an entirely luck-based game. There is no way to manipulate dice rolls in the game to get the correct roll. This will lead to a lot of frustrating attempts on some of the late-game boards where bad RNG can end a multi-hour game when you just need one specific roll to land on the finish tile.

Fortuna T’n’T Board

The first T’n’T board you will come across is located in the basement of the Fortuna Casino. As the first board, completing this board is the easiest out of the 5. For this board, you get a total of 10 starting rolls. While this seems small, it is sufficient enough to easily clear the board.

The strategy for this board is straightforward but like all future boards, is heavily reliant on luck. From the starting position, it’s a straight path to the finish tile. You can only depend on luck if the rolls land you exactly on the finish tile. Completing this board will grant you a Mini Medal and an Edged Boomerang.

Ventuno T’n’T Board

The next board you can access is the Ventuno T’n’T board, located in the basement of the Ventuno Casino. This board becomes available in Act 2 after you have acquired a ship.

Compared to the first board, the Ventuno T’n’T board is a bit more complicated. For this board, there are a total of 2 floors, a recurring pattern for future boards. However, even though the board may be a bit more complicated, beating it is still quite simple.

With a total of 18 starting rolls, make your way to the staircase located below the start tile. This will bring you to the second floor. From there, simply try to land on one of the 2 warp tiles. These tiles will warp you to a different section containing the finish tile. Once you make it here, it is simply up to luck if you land exactly on the finish tile. Completing the board will earn you a Lacy Bustier and a Prayer Ring.

Potential treasures from treasure tiles on this board include:

  • Magic Shield
  • Seed of Life

Spring T’n’T Board

The third board you can come across is the Spring T’n’T board, located in the Winter Place in Faerie Lea. Although you enter the Faerie Lea earlier in the game, the board is not accessible until Act 3.

While the Spring T’n’T board only has 1 floor, it is much more convoluted than the previous boards. Landing on the correct warp tiles is the key to completing the board. Something new to this board is the addition of dungeon tiles. Landing on these tiles will teleport you to a mini-isolated section filled with potential treasures and hazards.

With 23 starting rolls, you will need to aim for the war tile at the top left corner of the board. This is the ONLY way to be on the path that leads to the finish tile. Once you have arrived on the warp tile, head left along the path until you see a path heading right. This will lead you to the finish tile. The rewards for completing this board are a Happy Hat and a Miracle Sword

Potential treasures from treasure tiles on this board include:

  • Robe of Serenity
  • Dragon Shield
  • Yggdrasil Leaf
  • Elfin Charm
  • Flame shield
  • Flametang Boomerang

Nadiria T’n’T Board

The 4th board of the game is accessed at the very end of Act 3. This board is located in Nadiria, right below Mt. Zugzwang.

The Nadiria T’n’T board is quite tricky. In this board, there are a ton of warp tiles that cause you to land in circles if you land on them. The dungeons in this board are much larger compared to the Spring T’n’T board. With all that said, this board is still much simpler compared to the final board.

With 25 starting rolls, your first goal is trying to land on a stair tile to advance to the second floor. However, this is a tricky task as the path to the multiple stair tiles is littered with warp tiles that will bring you in circles. Once you reach the second floor, try to land on any of the warp tiles. All warp tiles on the second floor bring you to the exact same tile. From there, simply head up at the first intersection and down at the second one to bring you to the finish tile. Completing this board will reward you with a Mini Medal, T’n’T Free Pass, and a Sands of Time.

Potential treasures from treasure tiles on this board include:

  • Cobra Claw
  • Hades’ Helm
  • Iron Mask
  • Serf Wear
  • Dark Shield

Stark Raving T’n’T Board

The final T’n’T board becomes available only after you have defeated the final boss of the postgame. This board is located at the beginning of the post-game dungeon, Estark’s Labyrinth, in Nadiria.

The Stark Raving T’n’T board is extremely tough. With the massive length of the board, each attempt takes well over an hour and it will probably take multiple attempts to complete it. There are a total of 5 floors, 3 dungeons, and 5 treasure trove rooms. If you want to acquire all treasures from the board, be prepared to replay it multiple times.

With a total of 70 starting rolls, it is immediately apparent how daunting this T’n’T board is. Once you start the board, attempt to go to the second floor via the stairs. Head left at the first intersection to reach another set of stairs that will send you back to the first floor. From here, it’s a straight path to another set of stairs that will bring you to a different section on the second floor. In this section, land on one of the warp tiles to warp you to a path that holds the third-floor stairs.

The third floor is pretty straight-forward. Land on any of the warp tiles to warp you straight on a path to the fourth-floor stairs. However, this floor is littered with trap tiles that drop you back to the second floor. It’s all up to luck whether you avoid them or not.

The fourth floor actually contains the finish tile. From the stair tile, head through the path and turn right at the first intersection and up at the next. The finish tile will be located right there. However, landing on any of the trap tiles on this floor will bring you to the fifth floor.  As such, avoiding the traps will be crucial in finishing the board before running out of rolls. The sheer number of traps and volume of the board is what makes the Stark Raving T’n’T board such an arduous endeavor. Yet, if you manage to survive the traps, completing this board will allow Starkers to join the party.

Potential treasures from treasure tiles on this board include:

  • Metal King Armour
  • Metal King Shield
  • Happy Hat
  • Seed of Strength
  • Gold Coins (100, 2500, 3000)
  • Yggdrasil Leaf
