The tomato is a summer crop in Harvest Moon: Back to Nature. Tomatoes are a reliable source of income and you should plant them until you can afford to buy the best summer crops. It is also a renewable crop; it regrows after harvesting and you don’t need to replant it.
Where to buy Seeds: At the Supermarket
Days to Grow: 9 days
Renewable Crop: Yes, 4 days to regrow
Important Note: Each bag of seeds has 9 seeds that will fill a 3×3 square of tilled soil when planted. If you plant any seed on untilled soil, it will not grow and you will lose it forever.
Profit Using 3×3 and Fat-C Method
For renewable crops, we will calculate the profit per bag per day with the formula (Maximum Profit per Season/30 days), assuming you started planting on the first day of the season.

|Price per Crop
|Total Revenue per Bag

The Fat-C Method
This planting method involves tilling a 3×3 square of soil and leaving one square on the edge untilled, planting just 8 crops instead of 9. This is the most efficient method of planting crops during the early stages of the game since the center crop is inaccessible without an upgraded watering can.
You can use tomatoes in a variety of recipes.
As Main Ingredient: Ketchup, Salad, Sandwich, Tomato Juice,
As Optional Ingredient: Curry, Mixed Juice, Pizza, Stew, Stir Fry
Most people in the game will react positively when receiving tomatoes. Instead of giving the crop directly as a present, it is better to first create a recipe using it.
